Sydney Sweeney has left fans stunned after revealing scenes from one of her steamiest roles resurfaced online. The actress, 28, previously starred in the 2021 Amazon Prime erotic thriller The Voyeurs, where she appeared completely nude across multiple intense moments.
In the film, Sweeney played Pippa, an optometrist who moves into a new apartment with her boyfriend and becomes fixated on the explicit intimate lives of their neighbors across the street. Euphoria star Sydney Sweeney has revealed all in the recent episodes, but has hit back at critics over the industry’s “double standards”.
The storylines of the latest season of HBO's hit Euphoria, which follows the lives of the wild former high schoolers since graduation, have sparked major controversy.
Sweeney’s character, Cassie, begins her OnlyFans career despite getting together with Nate, played by heartthrob Jacob Elordi, while Rue (Zendaya) has run-ins with the cartel.
Cassie’s storyline requires Sweeney to wear some extremely revealing outfits, some of which have been accused of sexualizing children.
She has become a housewife in California, living with Nate, but she turns to OnlyFans to raise more money for their dream wedding.
The most jaw-dropping scene, showing Sweeney with her chest exposed and her legs open in the air, sporting pigtails and a pacifier in her mouth, is followed by dog-inspired lingerie, with Cassie drinking out of dog bowls for her fans.
In the latest episode, Sweeney turned the heat up even further in a full frontal nude scene featuring ice cream, baseball, and the American flag.
However, the 28-year-old actress, a registered Republican, is no stranger to career criticism.
Last year, her White Lotus co-star Aimee Lou Wood called her out over her response to the controversial American Eagle ad.
Despite the flak she has faced, the actress has opened up about how playing Cassie has increased her body confidence. She also remarked on the double standards there are in regards to male actors’ nude scenes.
She told Grazia: “When I saw The Voyeurs [Sweeney’s 2021 film] for the first time, I wondered if I’d done too much.
“I researched celebrities who have done nude scenes, trying to make myself feel better.”
Sweeney pointed out: “There are hour-long compilations of world-famous male actors with nude scenes who win Oscars and get praised for that work.
“But the moment a woman does it, it degrades them. They’re not actresses. They just take off their tops so they can get a role.”
She added, “I don’t think as many people took me seriously in Euphoria because I took my shirt off.
“There’s such a double standard. I really hope I can have a little part in changing that.”
The star also noted that: “When you film one of these scenes, it is so technical and so not romantic.
“There are people staring at you, there’s pads between you, there’s nipple covers and weird sticker thongs all up in your butt.”

Sydney Sweeney is once again receiving backlash for another NSFW scene in the third season of Euphoria.
Sweeney plays the troubled Cassie in the series, who has embarked on a career on OnlyFans in the HBO series.
While this may sound outlandish, the actress has bought into the idea, posing nude in a number of scenes so far in the series' run.
She may have allowed ice cream to drip down her bare chest in past episodes, but on Sunday's (May 17) episode, the actress has taken it up a level.
In an attempt to establish herself as one of the leading OnlyFans creators, Cassie appeared nude with a yellow python - because why wouldn't you?
As brave as the scene looked to film, fans were not the biggest advocates of the direction the character is continuing to take.
Appearing as Cassie, she posed nude with the huge snake wrapped around her body as part of a risqué photoshoot, orchestrated by former best friend Maddy (Alexa Demie).
As part of the shoot, Cassie even posed with Rosalía and Anna Van Patten’s characters, sporting some pink lingerie with a plunging neckline.
Once again, fans were shocked by the move, as many compared the scene to Britney Spears’ infamous 2001 MTV Video Music Awards performance with a live snake.
One fan took to X, questioning the relevance of the shot: “Cassie and that snake scene..?”
Another wrote: “What do you mean there’s a deadly snake that cassie takes pictures with?”
Euphoria's third season has received a lot of backlash from fans, as the Emmy-nominated Sweeney has already been seen dressed up as both a baby and a dog for her character's stroyline.
Sydney Leathers, a real-life OnlyFans model, criticised the show's portrayal of the profession, telling Variety that it is "infuriating."
“There’s so much that they have her doing that is not even allowed on OnlyFans, and that alone is infuriating: the age-play stuff where she’s dressed as a baby in a diaper, for example,” she explained.

The third of season of Euphoria has only aired its first two episodes, but fans have been left critical of a certain storyline involving Sydney Sweeney.
Sweeney, who plays Cassie in the popular HBO show, is joined by the likes of Zendaya, Jacob Elordi, Alexa Demie and other returning names for the show's long awaited follow-up to season two, which aired in 2022.
The focus has seemingly shifted away from high school, and moved towards more adult subject-matter, which seems hard to believe if you've seen the earlier seasons of the angsty teen drama.
Cassie's life shows viewers that she has ended up with Nate (Elordi), but in an attempt to raise more money for their upcoming wedding, she turns to OnlyFans, under the management of former best friend Maddy (Demie).
The showrunners have already faced criticism from viewers after Cassie was shown in a sexualized baby outfit in a teaser video ahead of the second episode of the series, titled "America My Dream."
The episode shows that Cassie is willing to do anything to gain a following on OnlyFans, though it was revealed that the scenes could have been limited by federal law.
That is, if it wasn't for a loophole.
In Sunday's (April 19) episode, Cassie can be seen topless while eating an ice cream as it drips down her bare chest, while she is later seen nude apart from a cap, shin pads and shoes, with her private areas covered by her hands.
It makes for pretty explicit viewing, with it even classified under the Federal Communications Commission's (FCC) definition of 'obscene, indecent and profane content'.
The FCC says that obscene content appeals "to an average person's prurient interest," also describing or depicting "sexual conduct in a 'patently offensive' way."
This is then "taken as a whole, lack serious literary, artistic, political or scientific value".
However, indecent content is described as that which portrays "sexual or excretory organs or activities in a way that is patently offensive, but does not meet the three-prong test for obscenity."
The broadcasting of obscene content is prohibited at all times in the day, but indecent and profane content are only banned for broadcast TV and radio between 6AM and 10PM.
But this still begs the question - how was HBO able to air Cassie's steamy scenes at 9PM ET yesterday?
Well, HBO is a cable channel, so they were able to get away with the move, as the FCC revealed: "The same rules for indecency and profanity do not apply to cable, satellite TV and satellite radio because they are subscription services."
Despite these scenes remaining legal-to-air, viewers were caught off-guard by how much the creators chose to show of the character's OnlyFans venture.
Many fans said the show had gone "too far", as one wrote on social media: "Honestly, Euphoria has always pushed boundaries, but it does feel like this season is going a bit too far for shock value.
"I get that it’s trying to portray dark and uncomfortable themes, but there’s a fine line between storytelling and unnecessary degradation."
Another wrote: "I’m glad everyone in Euphoria also thinks Cassie dressing as an adult baby is f**king weird."
Others described the scenes as "pathetic" and "disgusting."
Speaking about performing nude scenes in past projects, she told W Magazine: "I don’t get nervous. I think that the female body is a very powerful thing. And I’m telling my character’s story, so I owe it to them to tell it well and to do what needs to be done."
Euphoria creator Sam Levinson specifically defended the scenes from season three, telling The Hollywood Reporter: "[Cassie] has got her dog house and her little dog ears and the nose, and that has its own humor, but what makes the scene is the fact that her housekeeper is the one filming it.
"What we wanted to always find is the other layer of absurdity that we’re able to tie into it so that we’re not too inside of her fantasy or illusion — the gag is to jump out, to break the wall."
He did reveal that the scenes are supposed to be "gnarly and jarring" for the audience, adding: "We wanted to capture what she’s trying to show the audience and be inside of it, but then also pull back wider and see how depressing it is."

Although some real-life content creators criticized the way the series portrays online adult work, Sweeney has previously spoken about feeling empowered by playing Cassie and becoming more confident through the role.

However, series creator Sam Levinson defended the controversial scenes during an interview with The Hollywood Reporter.
“[Cassie] has got her dog house and her little dog ears and the nose, and that has its own humor,” Levinson explained.
He added: “But what makes the scene is the fact that her housekeeper is the one filming it.”
Levinson said the intention was to create a layer of absurdity around the fantasy being shown onscreen.
“What we wanted to always find is the other layer of absurdity that we’re able to tie into it so that we’re not too inside of her fantasy or illusion,” he said. “The gag is to jump out, to break the wall.”
Director of photography Marcell Rév also discussed the visual approach behind the scenes, explaining that the production team intentionally avoided making the setting appear too polished.
“An obvious choice would’ve been something modern and very plain and fancy, but we ended up choosing this mid-century home, which is a little tacky, but also stuck in the ‘70s,” Rév said.
He admitted adapting the visual style of OnlyFans content into the show’s cinematic aesthetic proved difficult, adding: “OnlyFans has its own aesthetic and how you elevate that aesthetic to the show’s aesthetic is a challenge. I’m not going to lie.”
Despite the backlash, Levinson said the uncomfortable atmosphere was intentional.
“Some of these scenes we only lit with these ring lights that she would use,” he explained. “When you’re inside, it’s a beautiful, glowing front light, but then you jump out of it and it’s just a pool of light and everything surrounding it is dark. It’s just gnarly and jarring.”
He added: “We wanted to capture what she’s trying to show the audience and be inside of it. But then also pull back wider and see how depressing it is.”
