Jamie Lee Curtis has reunited with her Freaky Friday co-star Lindsay Lohan and naturally, everyone's losing their minds.

Taking to Instagram, the 64-year-old revealed that she ended her week with a very special reunion.

"Too late. YOU GREW UP and SO BEAUTIFULLY! Well, it's Friday, and the strike is over so hopefully, we can switch places again in the near future! @lindsaylohan @disney," shared Curtis in a caption alongside a selfie of the pair smiling together.

Upon seeing the icons, thousands of fans took to the comments to express their joy.

"FREAKY FRIDAY 2 PLEASE!!!!" one user commented while another doubled down on it writing: "Please god make this happen."

A third user also stated: "IS THIS A TEASE FOR A SEQUEL??" alongside a flushed face emoji.

And another user chimed into the conversation saying: "You just gave us an ICONIC post right there."

So I bet you're wondering if there's a potential follow-up movie in the pipeline... and the answer is: Yes!

Freaky Friday will be returning for a sequel and both Lohan and Curtis are set to make their long-awaited return to the big screen as mother-daughter duo Anna and Tess Coleman.

For those of you who have never seen the cult classic - first of all, where the hell have you been? - and secondly, it's about an overworked mother and her daughter who do not seem to understand each other at all.

However, when they switch bodies after eating a magical fortune cookie, they're both forced to adapt to the other's life for one freaky Friday - which ultimately makes them appreciate each other more.

As per The Hollywood Reporter, this also marks a momentous occasion for Lohan, who will be making her return to studio filmmaking after embarking on a smaller career comeback with a two-picture deal at Netflix. Over Christmas, we saw the former child star take on a leading role in the rom-com Falling for Christmas, which proved to be a hit with fans, but this upcoming sequel seems to be exciting them more.

The rumors first started circulating in February when Curtis, who recently won her first Oscar for her role in Everything Everywhere All at Once, posted a photo of her and Lohan on Instagram alongside a caption that teased the sequel.

"It’s Friday. I’m just sayin! Freaky fingers crossed," she wrote.

Then in an interview with Variety, the 64-year-old seemingly confirmed the news - though nothing official was finalized.

"It’s going to happen," she said at the Producers Guild Awards on February 26. "Without saying there’s anything officially happening, I’m looking at you in this moment and saying, 'Of course it’s going to happen.' It’s going to happen."

And Lohan also talked of her excitement at the prospect telling the New York Times: "Jamie and I are both open to that, so we’re leaving it in the hands that be. We would only make something that people would absolutely adore."

When questioned about what the sequel would look like, Curtis told the hosts of The View that she would love to play an "old grandma who switches bodies" with Lohan.

"So then Lindsay gets to be the sexy grandma, who is still happy with Mark Harmon in all the ways you would be happy with Mark Harmon," she explained. "And simply, I would like to see Lindsay be the hot grandma, and I would like to see me try to deal with toddlers today. I wanna be a helicopter parent in today's world, as an old lady."

I guess we'll just have to wait and see what happens but in the words of Curtis, I'm definitely keeping my "freaking fingers" crossed.
