Jeremy Renner has shared an update from his hospital bed, where he reveals that he has broken "30 plus" bones.
As reported by Deadline, Renner was involved in an incident on January 1 involving his own snow plow that saw him get airlifted to the hospital.
A spokesperson for the 52-year-old actor revealed at the time that he was in a "stable but critical" condition, and further reports revealed further details of the incident.
It was reported that Renner was helping a stranded driver near his home that is located by Mt. Rose-Ski Tahoe in Nevada, and he was heard crying out in pain when the 911 call was made to get the Marvel star urgent medical assistance.
A source close to the star revealed to Radar Online how serious the injuries were after he was run over by the snow plow: "The right side of Jeremy’s chest was crushed, and his upper torso had collapsed. He also had a bad head wound that was bleeding and a leg injury."
The source continued: "He knew he was in bad shape and that he might not make it out of this."
Thankfully, Renner appears to be on the road to recovery, and he has taken to Instagram to reveal the extent of his injuries while thanking fans for their support.
"Morning workouts, resolutions all changed this particular new years …. Spawned from tragedy for my entire family, and quickly focused into uniting actionable love," Renner began.
"I want to thank EVERYONE for their messages and thoughtfulness for my family and I... Much love and appreciation to you all."
"These 30-plus broken bones will mend, grow stronger, just like the love and bond with family and friends deepens. Love and blessings to you all."
Renner also took to Instagram recently to thank the staff at Renown Regional Medical Center for helping him recover from the near-fatal incident. The star also spent his 52nd birthday in the ICU on January 7.
The Marvel actor's family also thanked staff in a statement via TMZ: "Jeremy's family would like to express their gratitude to the incredible doctors and nurses looking after him, Truckee Meadows Fire and Rescue, Washoe County Sheriff, Reno City Mayor Hillary Schieve and the Carano and Murdock families."
We wish Renner all the best on his road to recovery.
