A fitness influencer has tragically died after a heavy barbell landed on his neck, according to reports.

Justyn Vicky, 33, was reportedly training at the Paradasie Bali gym in Sanur, Indonesia, on July 15 when the tragic incident occurred.

According to reports from the Daily Mail, Vicky had been trying to squat-press 450 lbs when something went tragically wrong.

The publication states that Vicky was rushed to a local hospital with a broken neck and critical compression of vital nerves connecting to his heart and lungs, and died shortly after having emergency surgery.

According to reports, Vicky had been doing squat presses with the barbell behind his neck with a spotter, when the bar reportedly fell forward onto his neck.

Vicky had found fame for his content around bodybuilding, fitness, and nutrition and boasted over 30,000 followers on Instagram.

Just 10 days before his death, Vicky had shared a video of him doing the same exercise with a voiceover explaining that the squat was "one of the most dangerous" exercises, before adding: "Done properly, which it seldom is, a barbell squat need not be all that dangerous.

"Done properly, a barbell squat is capable of producing degrees of muscle mass increase that cannot be produced by any other exercise [...] it's dangerous as hell."

The gym he trained at, Paradise Bali, also shared a tribute to the late fitness star, sharing a photo of him flexing his biceps.

They wrote: "Today, we gather to celebrate the incredible life of our beloved personal trainer and friend, Justyn. It is with heavy hearts that we share the news of his passing, and yet, our spirits are lifted by the profound impact he had on each and every one of us.

The post added: "Today, as we bid farewell to our dear Justyn let us remember him as an extraordinary soul who dedicated his life to improving ours. Let us honor his memory by continuing to embrace the values and lessons he imparted upon us: to strive for our goals, to lift each other up, and to cherish the gift of health.
