A dating expert has taken to TikTok to reveal the best pick-up line she's ever heard from a stranger.
Simone Grossman, a matchmaker for US-based matchmaking company Three Day Rule, shared what she thought was a particularly endearing and respectful pick-up line in a video that's now been viewed almost half a million times, at the time of writing.
In the video, which was posted on June 4, she explained that a stranger recently approached her to ask her out while she was waiting for her friend.
She explained that she got good vibes from the man, who stayed "around eight feet away", and he began their interaction by complimenting her energy rather than her appearance.
Watch the viral TikTok below:Simone said: "I didn't feel uncomfortable. I felt like he was respecting my personal space, he wasn't presumptuous in any way."
Later revealing: "He was talking about how it looked like I was meditating/ in the midst of a deep contemplation lol. His opener or intro also gave me an 'out' so that if I felt like I didn't want to talk, he wasn't pressuring me."
The man also made a point of waiting until her friend was present before asking if he could have her number.
She added: "Which again is a really lovely move because it further alleviated any pressure that I might have felt.
"And I'm sure he intuitively knew that I would feel safer telling him 'yes' or 'no' because my friend was there to witness the whole thing."
The dating expert went onto assert that while other men don't have to copy what this guy did, it's a great example of how to approach a stranger in a non-intimidating way if someone catches your eye.
People were quick to take to the comments section to praise the interaction too.
One man wrote: "Thanks for the advice. I've been thinking about doing the same for over a month now but I still haven't, partly not to make someone uncomfortable."

A second TikTok user added: "Lovely! Good for him to communicate respect so fully."

Meanwhile, a third TikTok user wrote: "Why are the comments complaining that this is too complicated. Literally just respect personal space and take no for an answer."
