A mom has shared her heartbreak after no one turned up to her son's 6th birthday party.

Taking to TikTok, mom @dawners86 shared a video of the bash she threw for her son JJ , which began by showing all of the untouched cakes and party favors she'd arranged for the event.

As she filmed the empty birthday party, she said: "So we're sitting at the park for JJ's birthday party, we got everything ready, his party started half an hour ago.

"He had literally zero people show up for his birthday. My poor little man."

In a caption, she added: "Out of 22 invites... no one came... I know it's a pandemic, but it is a park, and we have reopened in my province."

The woman then films a young boy in the distance, who we can only assume is JJ, playing alone.

The clip did not go unnoticed on social media as it received almost 483K likes and thousands of comments, at the time of writing.

The video was met with much solidarity from TikTok users in the comments section who shared their similar experiences of people not turning up to birthday parties. Some even asked for JJ's address so that they could send him presents to make up for the snub.

One sympathetic TikTok user wrote: "This happened with my son's eighth birthday party. I'm so sorry. I lied and told him that I must not have put stamps on the invitations."

A second added: "My mamma heart just broke. I have questions, what is he into right now? where can I send him gifts? I am dead serious [sic]."

A third wrote: "This is why we ALWAYS show. No matter what, my girl is there with a gift and a smile."

A fourth revealed: "Hi. I was that kid a LONG time ago. It was tough but as an adult, I'm happy, married & successful. Superheroes need sad backstories."

Hopefully, the outpouring of support on TikTok will show JJ and his mom that he is very much loved and encourage other parents to always take their kids to parties!
