Daniel Radcliffe has announced that he's going to be a father for the first time with longtime girlfriend Erin Darke.
The wonderful news was confirmed by a rep for the 33-year-old Harry Potter star, who told Us Weekly that 38-year-old Erin was pregnant and that they were expecting their first child together.
The couple - who live in New York City together - were spotted out and about on Friday, with Erin sporting a growing baby bump.
A source close to the couple has since told The Mirror: "They told their families and friends recently. It’s an incredibly exciting time," adding that Erin and Daniel "can’t wait to become a family of three".
Erin - who is also an actor - and Daniel first met back in 2013 while working on the movie Kill Your Darlings. Life would then go on to to imitate art, as the couple soon got together for real, much like their characters do in the movie.
Speaking about their first interactions together, Radcliffe told PEOPLE: "Our characters are meeting and flirting with each other, so there is this kind of sweet record of us just meeting for the first time and flirting."
Radcliffe would later tell Playboy that his scenes with Darke were incredibly easy to film due to his immediate attraction to her.
"There's no acting going on—not from my end, anyway," he told the publication. "There's a moment when she makes me laugh, and I'm laughing as me and not as my character. She was incredibly funny and smart. I knew I was in trouble."
Ever since that moment, the pair have grown closer, bonded over "super nerdy" things, and become a true example of a happy relationship.
Back in 2020, the Harry Potter alum spoke about how he has so much in common with Darke, telling Metro: "I grew up doing lots of things where I thought, 'This is super nerdy. I'll never be able to do this around a girl.' But that's the wonderful thing about the moment you find the relationship you're meant to be in. It's like, 'Oh, I can do all of that stuff and you don't mind. And you actually think it's fun, too."
He has also previously described Erin as his "best friend".
Darke has also spoken to PEOPLE about how supportive the two actors are of the other's career, revealing: "We really love what we do, and there’s something that’s really beautiful and really lovely about being with someone who just innately understands that about you."
Darke has starred in projects just as Dietland, The Marvelous Mrs Maisel, and the period drama Good Girls Revolt.
