Daniel Radcliffe has welcomed his first child with his longtime partner Erin Darke.

According to MailOnline, the former child star, now 33, was pictured in New York City on Monday pushing a stroller with his newborn inside. Radcliffe shares the little one with fellow actor Darke, 38.

VT reported toward the end of last month that the couple were expecting their first child together. News of the pregnancy was confirmed by a rep for the Harry Potter alum.

A source close to the couple told The Mirror last month: "Daniel and Erin could not be happier to be expecting. They are absolutely thrilled, and can’t wait to become a family of three. They told their families and friends recently. It’s an incredibly exciting time."

Radcliffe has previously been candid about not wanting his children to be in the spotlight - though he admitted he'd be thrilled if they pursued a more low-profile role in the film industry.

Speaking to Newsweek last year, he said: "I want my kids – if and when they exist – I would love them to be around film sets. A dream would be for them to come onto a film set and be like: ‘God, you know, I’d love to be in the art department, I’d love to be something in the crew.

"I wouldn’t want fame for my kid. Film sets are wonderful places. A lot of the time it can be wonderful for kids, but it’s really the fame side of it that should be avoided at all costs."

Radcliffe and Darke first met back in 2013 while starring together in the movie Kill Your Darlings.

In 2020, Radcliffe told People: "It’ll be a hell of a story to tell our kids one day. Our characters are meeting and flirting with each other, so there is this kind of sweet record of us just meeting for the first time and flirting."

The actor's Harry Potter co-star Rupert Grint welcomed his first child in 2020 with fellow actor Georgia Groome, who he had been dating since 2011.

Grint, who played Ron Weasley in the film series, shared an adorable snap of himself and his then newborn, writing: "Hey Instagram....only 10 years late, but here I am. Grint on the Gram! Here to introduce you all to Wednesday G. Grint. Stay safe, Rupert."

When asked about his relationship with his co-stars during an appearance on the Today Show in 2020, Radcliffe said: "Absolutely [we're in touch]. We're not as close as we once were but I [recently] text Rupert because of his baby. I mean that is still wild to me that we are now at the stage were we are having kids and I'm sure that is a fact that makes the rest of the world feel very old."
