Dick Van Dyke has been involved in a single-vehicle car crash after reportedly "losing control of his vehicle".
As first reported by TMZ, law enforcement sources have told the publication that officers were dispatched to the scene in Malibu, California, last Wednesday, and found the legendary actor behind the wheel of his 2018 Lexus LS 500.
The 97-year-old Mary Poppins star was reportedly found with a bloodied nose and mouth, and paramedics were dispatched to the scene.
Van Dyke then received treatment at the roadside, but refused to go to the hospital.
Sources say that although the Hollywood icon managed to avoid serious injury, he may have suffered a concussion (although, this could not be confirmed).
Additionally, TMZ reports that the Chitty Chitty Bang Bang star revealed to officers that he "lost control" of his vehicle due to the heavy rainfall. With the road surface wet, the actor reportedly skidded and slammed his car into a gate.
Sources told the publication that alcohol or drugs did not play any factor in the crash, but that officers have reportedly submitted paperwork to the DMV requesting that the actor retake a driving test - something that is not uncommon for a person of his age.
After receiving treatment, the actor was picked up by a loved one.
The Daily Mail reports that the incident comes almost 10 years after the star was involved in another car crash, which resulted in the actor having to be rescued from his burning Jaguar in LA.
It's safe to say that despite his long career and 97 years of life, Van Dyke shows no signs of slowing down.
In fact, just last month his was unmasked as one of the contestants on FOX's The Masked Singer.
Check out that amazing moment below (it brought Nicole Scherzinger to tears):Taking on Frank Sinatra's hit song 'When You’re Smiling', Van Dyke wowed us all with his abilities, once again doubling down on the fact that getting older doesn't mean you have to stop doing what you love.
And the actor credit's his happy marriage to 51-year-old Arlene Silver for helping him to remain feeling so young.
During a new interview with Yahoo, the 97-year-old was asked about his "secret for staying so youthful", to which, he replied: "having a beautiful young wife half my age to take care of me - that works!"
We wish Dick all the best in his recovery!
