Halsey has spoken out after it was reported that a number of fans walked out of their Sunday night concert in Phoenix when the singer spoke out in support of abortion.

In fan video footage from the show, Halsey - who goes by they/she pronouns - can be heard telling the crowd: "The truth is that my heart breaks looking out into this audience because I see so many people who deserve to have incredible lives, who deserve the right to healthcare that they need."

"I don't want you to ever have to be in a situation where you don't have access to that."

Check out Halsey's Phoenix speech below:

The 27-year-old then told the crowd: "If you don't like it, I don't know why you came to a Halsey concert, because I've never been shy that this is how [I feel]."

After asking the crowd to do what they can to support abortion rights, Halsey is heard saying it the video: "If you don't like it, you can go home right now."

During their shows, Halsey has also projected statements and facts about abortion on the big screen behind them - as seen in the Instagram post below:

At another concert in Dallas on Tuesday, the hitmaker said, per CNN: "You are in a building full of 15,000 people, so all those strangers that you hear stories about, that you think it doesn't affect you in your real life, look to the left, look to the right, look in front of you, look behind you.

"These people who are here, who are singing along to the same songs as you, who are here because they love the same things as you, maybe even you, there are people in here whose lives will be saved because they have an abortion. I can tell you about one that I know for certain. Right here."

Following Halsey's pro-choice comments at their concert on Monday, one fan tweeted: "THE AMOUNT OF PEOPLE WHO JUST WALKED OUT OF THE HALSEY CONCERT AFTER NIGHTMARE WHEN SHE SPOKE ABOUT ABORTION WAS SICKENING. FIGHT FOR WHAT IS RIGHT."

In response to that tweet, Halsey penned a tweet of their own, writing: "[The] downside of doing outdoor venues: no door to hit them on the way out."

In a subsequent tweet, they added: "Honored to have my audience. Proud they cultivate a space where emotion and action meet. Love doing what I do. And expect me to always tell the truth when I get up there. Show must go on."
