According to a report by TMZ, Jodie Turner-Smith has filed for divorce from her husband, Joshua Jackson, after approximately four years of marriage.
The Queen & Slim actress and the Dawson’s Creek star - who share a daughter, Janie - were united in marriage in 2019 after experiencing what has been described as a whirlwind romance. The pair first locked eyes in 2018 at Usher’s birthday party and, according to Turner-Smith, it was love at first sight, leading to a flirty encounter that evolved into a fan-favorite celebrity marriage.
However, TMZ's report indicates that Turner-Smith submitted official paperwork to dissolve her relationship with Jackson, citing irreconcilable differences" as the underlying reason for the split. It’s claimed that the separation was formalized on September 13.
Amidst the divorce proceedings, Turner-Smith has requested joint custody of their daughter, Janie, and has moved to eliminate the option of spousal support for both parties. There has been no revelation regarding the exact cause of their split, but there’s speculation that a pre-nuptial agreement was in place.
Neither of the stars have publicly commented on the report.

The news has likely blindsided fans, especially considering the couple appeared cozy and enamored during J Crew’s 40th-anniversary celebrations just last month. Both Turner-Smith and Jackson shared snippets from the event, showcasing their togetherness on the red carpet, on their respective Instagram pages.
Turner-Smith, known for her role in Anne Boleyn, previously revealed on Late Night with Seth Meyers that their love story commenced somewhat unexpectedly. She amusingly detailed their first encounter, stating: "I saw him before he saw me, and when I saw him, I was like, 'I want that."
She went on to describe Jackson’s charming approach and their instant, undeniable connection, per Metro.
Joshua Jackson, who has had high-profile relationships with Katie Holmes and Diane Kruger, also nostalgically reflected on their relationship in a discussion with Mr. Porter. "It was a whirlwind romance and I can tell my daughter I literally saw her mother across a room and thought, 'I have to be next to this woman,'" he remarked.
