The star of My 600-Lb Life, Dolly Martinez, has tragically died at just 30 years old.
Her sister, Lindsey Cooper, announced the news that her “beautiful sister” with the “brightest personality” had died in a Facebook post on Saturday, April 11.
Paying tribute to Dolly, she wrote about her loving spirit and said: “She had a way of making everyone feel special, her warmth will stay with us forever”.
She added that their family’s “hearts are broken,” but they find comfort in believing Dolly is reunited with her dad in heaven.
The statement ended with: “Rest peacefully, Dolly. You will always be loved, always be missed, and never forgotten.”
While her family did not reveal the TLC star’s cause of death, just hours before the statement, Lindsey posted on Facebook saying Dolly was in hospital “fighting for her life.”
Dolly's season of My 600-Lb Life
Dolly starred in season 10 of the hit reality show about people struggling with their weight and trying to seek help.
She opened up about her battles with food addiction and mental health.
At the beginning of her episode, Dolly weighed 593 pounds, relied on oxygen and needed physical help with daily tasks such as getting dressed and using the toilet.
The show followed her when she moved from Fort Worth to Houston to be closer to her doctor in the hopes of being referred for weight loss surgery.
During the episode, she lost about 40 pounds but was not approved for the procedure.
What happened to Dolly's daughter?
It was also revealed on the show that Dolly and her estranged husband had a daughter who was removed from their care by Child Protection Services at just six days old, as they were unable to look after her.
It is understood that Dolly’s mother has guardianship of the child.
The episode aired in January 2022 when Dolly was just 25 years old.
According to IMDB, after the show, Dolly went to live with her husband, but after enduring his alleged abusive behavior, she moved into a homeless shelter.
Her Instagram account suggests that she was not homeless at the time of her death, as her bio states: “Not homeless anymore. Living day by day.”
