Maryanne Trump Barry - the older sister of US President Donald Trump - has been heard criticizing her "cruel" brother in a series of secret recordings released on Saturday (August 23).
The former federal judge was secretly recorder by her niece, Mary Trump, who has recently released the book Too Much and Never Enough: How My Family Created the World’s Most Dangerous Man, damning the POTUS.
As reported by The Washington Post and then obtained by The Associated Press, the recordings were reportedly made by Mary back in 2018 and 2019.
You can hear a clip of the recordings in the tweet below:

In one recording, the now 83-year-old Barry can be heard recalling a 2018 interview with her brother on Fox News in which he suggested that he would put her on the border to oversee cases of immigrant children separated from their parents.
In response, she says: "His base, I mean my God, if you were a religious person, you want to help people. Not do this."
At another point during the recording, Trump's sister can be heard saying: "His goddamned tweet and lying, oh my God," before adding: "I’m talking too freely, but you know. The change of stories. The lack of preparation. The lying. Holy s**t."
At another point, Maryanne states:
"All he wants to do is appeal to his base. He has no principles. None."
At one point, Barry is asked by Mary about whether Donald Trump has ever read her opinions on immigration cases, to which she responds: "No. He doesn’t read."
During other parts in the recordings, Maryanne labels her brother a "brat" when he was a child, and talks about his efforts to get into college.
At another point, Barry can be heard saying: "It’s the phoniness of it all. It’s the phoniness and this cruelty. Donald is cruel."
Mary Trump also revealed on Saturday that she had recorded 15 hours of face-to-face conversations with Barry.
Two days ago, Mary tweeted her support for Democratic presidential candidate Joe Biden, writing:
"It's a simple choice:
Kindness vs cruelty
Hope vs cynicism
Community vs division
Democracy vs autocracyBut we need to fight with everything we've got to make it happen because they're going to do everything they can to take it from us.
#VOTE #BidenHarris2020 #BlueTsunami"

The eye-opening recordings came to light just a day after the late Robert Trump - brother to Maryanne and the President - was memorialized in a service at the White House.

Donald Trump is suing his niece, Mary Trump, over the disclosure of his tax documents - the information of which was published in several articles by the New York Times.
The lawsuit claims that Mary was in breach of a 2001 settlement agreement among the Trump family when she disclosed this information about the former president, CNN reports.
Trump is now seeking "damages in an amount to be determined at trial but believed to be no less than One Hundred Million Dollars" from not only Mary but several New York Times journalists.
The Times' journalists are being accused of "tortious interference" with the settlement agreement after they "relentlessly sought out Mary Trump and intentionally procured her breach of the Settlement Agreement."
Named defendants in the case include Susanne Craig, David Barstow, and Russ Buettner.
In the video below, Mary discusses her uncle:The lawsuit alleges that "the actions of Mary Trump and The Times Defendant were motivated, at least in part, by their actual malice towards Plaintiff."
It states that the Times journalists "unjustly reaped significant personal, professional and/or business-related benefit(s), including, but not limited to, monetary gain, fame, acclaim, notoriety, inflated market valuation, increased revenue, and/or career advancement."
The Daily Beast first reported that the lawsuit had been filed in Dutchess County.
In response to the lawsuit, Mary Trump said in a statement: "I think he is a loser, and he is going to throw anything against the wall he can. It's desperation. The walls are closing in and he is throwing anything against the wall that he thinks will stick.
"As is always the case with Donald, he'll try and change the subject."
A spokesperson for the Times said the publication's "coverage of Donald Trump's taxes helped inform citizens through meticulous reporting on a subject of overriding public interest. This lawsuit is an attempt to silence independent news organizations and we plan to vigorously defend against it."
The Times journalists being used were widely praised for their 18-month investigation into Trump's taxes that "debunked his claims of self-made wealth and revealed a business empire riddled with tax dodges."
However, at the time of the report's release, Trump dismissed it as a "very old, boring and often told hit piece," CNN reports.

Donald Trump's niece has explained that one trait her uncle has which could spell disaster for the world.
Mary Trump - daughter of Trump's elder brother Fred Trump Jr - is one her uncle's most vocal critics, and with temperatures rising over speculation of the intense conflict between the United States and Iran, and what this could mean for the rest of the world, she's not finished holding him account.
Mary is an author as well as a trained psychologist.
She's written three best-selling books analysing the dynamics of the Trump family; Too Much and Never Enough (2020), The Reckoning (2021) and Who Could Ever Love You (2024).
Mary Trump has fears that one of her uncle's fatal flaws could spell disaster for the rest of the world, especially given rising tensions over the conflict in Iran.
Put simply, she says that Trump never backs down and, indeed, often doubles down when faced with criticism or pushback to his opinions or actions.
Speaking on her YouTube channel, Mary Trump Media, she elaborated saying: "Nobody's stopping him.
"But, what he's doing is what weak people do.
"It's also what Donald has always done.
"He pushes the envelope to see what he can get away with."
Where the danger comes in, she says, is that: "When nobody stops him, he pushes the envelope further and gets away with more.
"When somebody finally does stop him, he doesn't course correct like a mature human being. He doesn't come up with a different strategy."
She says this kind of behaviour is so dangerous because 'he doubles down. He quadruples down'.
"It's extremely dangerous behaviour, especially when we're talking about somebody who has the power to bring this world to the brink of economic chaos and a war nobody but him wants."
Mary Trump's comments come as her uncle continues to pursue an aggressive military strategy in the Middle East.
The US and Israel are continuing to bombard Iran with missiles, but he's currently being met with a lot of pushback - especially from the UK and other countries in Europe - for his plans to combat the Iranian blockade in the Strait of Hormuz.
Donald certainly doesn't seem close to backing down on quite a few fronts - but we'll have to wait and see what the future brings for the controversial US President.

Donald Trump's eldest sister has been found dead in her New York City apartment.
As reported by BBC News, Maryanne Trump Barry - a former federal judge in New Jersey - was found dead at approximately 4:00AM on Monday (November 13) at her home in the Upper East Side of Manhattan area. She was 86 years old.
At the time of this writing, no cause of death has been announced. A medical examiner will determine the cause of death at a later date.
Sources close to the matter have told ABC News that emergency crews had been responding to a call of somebody having a cardiac arrest - although Barry was not named specifically. However, sources also added that there were no signs of trauma or foul play at the scene.
Barry is the third of Donald Trump's siblings to have passed away.
The former US President's youngest brother - Robert Trump - died in August 2020 at 71 years old and Fred Trump Jr. died back in September 1981 at just 42 years old after suffering a heart attack. His only surviving sibling is his older sister, Elizabeth Trump Grau - an 81-year-old former banker.
Barry served as a senior judge from 1983 until her eventual retirement in 2019 after being nominated by President Ronald Reagan. She was one of only two female prosecutors in the US Attorney's Office in New Jersey from 1974 to 1983. In 1999, President Bill Clinton appointed Bary to the US Court of Appeals for the Third Circuit.
While running for president back in 2015, Donald Trump said that his sister would make a "phenomenal" selection for the US Supreme Court.
Her retirement in 2019 came at a time when she became the focus of a court investigation following The New York Times published its own investigation into the tax practices of Donald Trump and his family. The Times adds that her retirement brought a close to the investigation as retired judges are not subject to judicial conduct rules.
Although several reports claim that Barry was one of her brother's closest advisors, their relationship became the subject of scrutiny after her niece - Mary Trump - released several audio recordings that were secretly recorded in 2018 and 2019.
In the recordings - which were shared with and published by the Washington Post - Barry makes several scathing remarks about President Trump.
"All he wants to do is appeal to his base," Barry told her niece as part of a conversation that was secretly recorded. "He has no principles. None. None. And his base, I mean my God, if you were a religious person, you want to help people. Not do this."
The recordings were released in 2020, when Mary Trump also released her book, Too Much and Never Enough: How My Family Created the World’s Most Dangerous Man.
Our thoughts are with Mrs. Barry's family, friends, and loved ones at this time.

Donald Trump's niece Mary Trump has announced that she wants to change her name to distance herself from the former president.
In an interview with The Telegraph, Mary said, "I am prepared to change my name if need be," as she fears the negative connotations some associate with the Trump name.
The 55-year-old clinical psychologist also took the opportunity presented by the interview to address the rumors of an impending divorce between Donald Trump and Melania.
She said that the former first lady may not divorce her husband, who is the only president in history to have been impeached twice, but asserts that he does not understand "affection or intimacy."
Rumors of a rift between the couple began to circulate when Melania walked off as Trump posed for photographers in Florida after moving out of the White House.
Watch the incident below:In her memoir about her uncle, Too Much and Never Enough, Mary described Donald Trump as the "world's most dangerous man."
"The damage Donald has done to this country is incalculable," she said. "We're just waiting to find out how much is irreparable."
As per the Independent, Mary is the daughter of Donald's brother Fred Trump Jr, who passed away at the age of 42 died in 1982.
Mary Trump and her brother Fred Trump III claimed that the former president's family tried to cut them out of their inheritance, which is why they challenged their father's will.
In an interview with CNN last week, Mary said that the day Trump had to hand over the Oval office to Joe Biden was "probably the worst day of his life."
"The other thing I just want to point out about that speech, it was reminiscent of a video he made after the insurrection saying the movement is just beginning, which seems like a bit of a threat to me," she said to CNN, presumably in reference to the assault on the Capitol building which took place earlier this month.
The 55-year-old then speculated that her uncle is going to do everything in his power to change the narrative around his presidential legacy.

Mary Trump, the niece of President Donald Trump, claims that her uncle "enjoyed every second" of the Capitol riots.
The 55-year-old clinical psychologist's remarks come a week after a mob of pro-Trump protestors stormed the US Capitol building in Washington, D.C. - clashing violently with police and disrupting Congress' affirmation of Joe Biden's victory in the 2020 Presidential elections.
Five people, including a Capitol police officer, were killed as a result of the insurrection.
Now, Mary Trump - author of the bestselling Trump family exposé Too Much and Never Enough: How My Family Created The World’s Most Dangerous Man - made her feelings clear on the subject in a virtual interview with Sirius XM Radio host Dean Obeidallah on Friday, January 15.
Take a look at the interview with Mary Trump in the video below:Per The Huffington Post, Mary Trump stated:
"He enjoyed every second of it. He is a physical coward but he’s perfectly happy when other people commit violence on his behalf.
"Secondly, again, he really thought that that was a way to change the results of the legitimate election."
In a previous interview with MSNBC back in November, Mary Trump described her uncle's state of mind as "desperate" and "flailing," when his Democrat rival Joe Biden was first projected to become the 46th President of the United States.
Mary Trump stated: "Donald has never been in this place before where there’s nobody to bail him out, there's nobody to buy him out.
"He's desperate, he's flailing, and there's literally nothing he can do legitimately except to watch this play out helplessly. The leader of a country trying desperately to delegitimize an election. It’s obscene, and somebody’s got to step in and stop it."
In an op-ed for the Guardian, Mary also seemingly predicted Trump's state of mind during the last weeks of his administration.
She wrote: "He's not going to engage in the normal activities that guarantee a peaceful transition. All he's got now is breaking stuff, and he's going to do that with a vengeance."
She added: "The worst thing Donald's looking at isn't financial difficulties or the prospect of jail. It's becoming irrelevant. I don't think he would ever recover from that."
However, irrelevance might be exactly what Trump is facing, bearing in mind his recent and permanent ban from Facebook, as well as his ban from Twitter, and YouTube.
Donald Trump Jr. has now asked billionaire Elon Musk to create his own social media platform "to save free speech":Per News18.com, there is growing speculation from political pundits that Trump may attempt to acquire his own social media platform after being banned from more conventional channels.
Per The Independent, in a since-deleted statement made on the official Presidential Twitter account, Trump tweeted: "We have been negotiating with various other sites, and will have a big announcement soon, while we also look at the possibilities of building out our own platform in the near future.
"We will not be SILENCED! … STAY TUNED. [sic]"
