At some point, most women have been scared while walking home alone in the dark. There is a whole industry dedicated to creating pink pepper spray and lipstick that doubles as a flashlight just for them. But while most keep their guard up when they're solo, no one expects to be attacked by a gimp.

After one anonymous woman came forward to describe her terrifying experience with a man in a rubber gimp suit, Claverham police reveal they have received calls from several other area residents who have been bothered by the man jumping out at them.

Police responded to a call from Somerset Village at 11:30 p.m. on Thursday from a woman in her twenties. She told them the gimp charged at her as she walked through the street. He left her alone after she repeatedly screamed and pushed him.

Though authorities showed up at the scene with dogs and a helicopter, they couldn't find the perpetrator. The woman told the BBC about her terrifying experience:

"I was walking along with my torch and looked up to see someone charging at me in a full black rubbery suit and managed to take a picture. He kept coming towards me and was touching his groin, grunting and breathing heavy."

"As I tried to take a step back, he was right in front of my face, and he put his leg forward. I was just trying to assess the situation in my head quickly. Everything was running through my head. I thought: 'This is it, I’m going to get attacked.'"

The woman reported the incident so that no one else would be terrorised in the way that she was, especially since she is now afraid to leave her house: "It's not just a man jumping out at me going 'boo.' Every time I close my eyes, I just see that face."

Avon and Somerset Police are trying everything they can to prevent the situation from occurring again, with increased patrolling in the area. They told the BBC in a statement:

"We’re aware of concerns relating to a man acting suspiciously in the Claverham/Yatton area. While we’re keeping an open mind about the motive for these incidents, it’s clear the individual responsible is deliberately attempting to cause alarm to the men and women he’s approaching. While no-one has been hurt during the incidents, we fully appreciate the distress these actions have caused victims."

Next time you're out and about, expect the unexpected. You never know what might happen, so keep your eye out for anything and everything... including gimps.

A woman who was attacked by a man wearing a mask has described how she found out that it was her ex-husband.

Morgan Metzer, a survivor of the harrowing ordeal, recounted the terrifying moments she endured to the Sun.

Her ordeal unfolded in the early hours of New Year's Day 2021 when she awoke to the presence of a masked intruder, wielding a voice distortion tool that echoed something out of a superhero movie.

With her twins away on vacation, she found herself alone, and vulnerable, as the nightmare commenced.

"I screamed so loud, it’s a scream that I don’t think I can ever do again. It was so painful," she recounted. "Soon enough, he was on top of me."

What followed was a brutal assault, with the intruder subjecting her to vicious beatings, restraints, and sexual assault.

Metzer, recalling the moment when her life hung by a thread as the assailant began to choke her, described it as "the worst feeling in the world."

"At that point, I knew I was going to die," she told the outlet.

Even in the midst of the horror, Morgan couldn't shake off a gut feeling about the attacker's identity.

The mask, reminiscent of Batman, and a chilling remark about her family from the assailant fueled her suspicions.

"That's when I went, 'Wow, it's him,'" she recalled. "Why would somebody randomly say you're going to miss your husband?"

Bound and left half-naked in the freezing cold, Morgan struggled to stay conscious, fearing the worst.

However, a glimmer of hope emerged when help arrived in the form of her ex-husband, Rodney Metzer, who rushed to the scene after being alerted by a stranger.

Despite Rodney's apparent concern, Morgan's doubts intensified. Accusations flew as they awaited police, with her accusing him of the heinous act - a claim he vehemently denied.

Morgan's resilience and quick thinking ultimately led to Rodney's arrest, as investigators uncovered damning evidence, including surveillance footage and incriminating purchases.

Rodney's facade of innocence crumbled as investigators exposed his manipulative tactics, including faking a cancer diagnosis and forging documents in a desperate bid to regain control over Morgan's life.

Assistant District Attorney Rachel Ashe shed light on Rodney's calculated scheme, revealing a twisted plot that veered from murder-suicide to a staged rescue attempt.

"Fortunately, sheriff’s office investigators saw through this scheme and quickly arrested the defendant," Ashe stated, per the New York Post.

In a courtroom confession, Rodney pleaded guilty to a litany of charges, including kidnapping and sexual battery.

As part of a plea deal, he was sentenced to 70 years behind bars.

Despite the traumatic ordeal she went through, Morgan finds solace in sharing her story, advocating for awareness and support for survivors of domestic abuse.

"I want to raise awareness for people who are suffering silently," Morgan asserted. "I want women to learn to speak in a circle together of people they trust. I didn't realize how toxic my situation was, and how much lighter life could be."

You know, anyone who takes a trip or a holiday nowadays seems to rely on Airbnb, and it's easy to see why. The app and site have made it simpler and more affordable for anyone to travel and find a bed for the night. But despite its convenience, it isn't perfect, and there have been plenty of times in the past where unscrupulous or dishonest hosts have used it to take serious advantage of their guests. In fact, worse than a lumpy mattress, a lack of wi-fi and a cold room are hosts that are downright criminal, and those kind are a lot more common than you might think.

Case in point, a young couple from Scotland who went on a romantic trip to the Canadian capital of Toronto were shocked to find something very secret and very disturbing hidden in their room. Their discovery ruined their vacation, but their subsequent Facebook post warning others about the dangers of Airbnb has now gone viral on social media.

Dougie Hamilton, who hails from Glasgow in Scotland, and his girlfriend had been staying in an Airbnb apartment for less than 20 minutes before he spotted something suspicious about the seemingly-innocuous alarm clock on the desk. It appeared to have a cable attached to it, much like a smartphone charger, which Dougie thought was odd considering that most alarm clocks are typically battery operated. However, on closer inspection, Dougie realised that the alarm clock was actually a spy camera which had been pointed straight at him and his girlfriend's bed!

In a later interview with British newspaper The Daily Record, Dougie stated: "In my head, I felt a bit weird even thinking it and I kept telling myself not to be daft. But there was just something. I took the charger out of it and saw there was a lithium battery in the back. At this point, I slid the front facing off the clock and could see there actually was a camera. We didn't know if the owner had been watching. It just felt really creepy and we didn't want to stay. We're innocent-minded people but the clock was facing where our bed was and we thought it might be for something more sinister like a sex ring."

Dougie's post soon managed to accrue a number of shares and comments from disturbed social media users. As a result of the post, the Toronto police department has confirmed that Canadian law enforcement is investigating the incident and treating it as a serious allegation against the owner of the apartment. Meanwhile, Dougie has stated that he has contacted Airbnb about the matter, and apparently their security team is also looking into it. Airbnb has also allegedly promised him a full refund, and intend to cancel any future reservations at the property in question. So next time you're going on a trip to somewhere unfamiliar, keep an eye out for anything out of place. And please: stay safe.

An influencer has shared a video confronting a man on a plane after claiming that he tried to take pictures of her while she was sleeping.

Fitness content creator Anna Clara Rios - who boasts 644K followers on Instagram - took to the social media platform to share a video explaining the incident late last week.

The alleged incident took place as Rios was flying home to Belo Horizonte, Brazil, from a work-related trip to São Paulo on December 14, per Daily Mail.

In the clip which was initially posted on her Instagram Story, Rios can be seen standing in the aisle describing the incident next to the alleged culprit - who is seen in his seat, nonchalantly looking at his phone.

Translated from Portuguese to English, in the video, Rios said: "I am shaking with rage. This gentleman here was taking photos of me while I was asleep, they had to let me know to move me."

Cited by the outlet, the influencer claims that she was warned of the man's alleged actions by a flight attendant, saying: "My first reaction [to the flight attendant] was, 'I work on social media, he must have recognized me.'

"But she said to me, 'I don't think that's it, while you were sleeping, he was zooming in and trying to see what was under your dress,'" she continued.

The content creator decided to confront the man and urged him to delete the pictures from his phone. She also revealed that the alleged culprit sent the snaps to someone on WhatsApp, per the New York Post.

"I felt very vulnerable and insecure so I told the flight attendant that I was going to confront him because I wanted him to delete the photos from his mobile phone," she said.

"I went to him feeling that my privacy had been invaded, I said this was not right, that I could be his mother, sister, or daughter," Rios added.

According to Daily Mail, the influencer took a screenshot of the message to later share with authorities. After the alleged incident, she said that officers were waiting to accompany the guy off the plane at Belo Horizonte International Airport.

In the footage, a police officer can be seen speaking to the man, before he is led off the plane to the sound of passengers applauding the woman.

Furthermore, Rios also gave a statement to the police and said the man was taken to a nearby police station to give a statement as well but was not placed under arrest.
