The woman who went viral last year after being seen cuddling up with her then-boss at a Coldplay concert has provided the public with an update.
Now known worldwide as the 'Coldplay couple' after being exposed by a moment on the kiss cam, Andy Byron and Kristin Cabot went viral for all the wrong reasons in July 2025.
Back then, little did they know that attending the band's Music of the Spheres concert would alter their lives forever.
Being spotted on the jumbo screen at the concert was one thing, as Coldplay frontman Chris Martin even joked: "Oh, look at these two. Either they are having an affair or they’re just really shy.
“Holy s**t! I hope we didn’t do something bad,” as they turned away in horror and hid from the camera.
It turned out that Byron was the CEO of a New York-based tech company called Astronomer, while Cabot was ironically part of the HR team at the same organization, with the former married at the time.
While Cabot was in the middle of a separation from her husband, he was also at the concert when the moment unfolded, though in a different area.
But now, she has shared an update a year on from the incident.
The former HR executive left the company after the incident, as she looked to embark on a new chapter in life, aiming to fight against online harassment while looking for a new job.
Cabot, a mom-of-two, is still without a job and opened up about some of the online abuse she received in an interview with The Boston Globe.
She explained: “I’m still a hot mess, but I’m better,” while speaking to Sherry Hakimi, the CEO of Pirth.org.
Cabot is an adviser to the nonprofit organization, which works to help people who are targeted online, as Cabot added: “I just feel so turned inward, which I don’t like,
“That’s not me. But I’ll get there.”
Byron never publicly commented on the incident, and was later spotted with his wife, despite allegedly going through a separation at the time of the kiss cam.
He also left his role at Astronomer, and the pair no longer speak.
The 53-year-old has opened up on the incident in several interviews since, including a sit-down conversation with Oprah Winfrey for her podcast in March.
Cabot spoke of the abuse she deserves, explaining that while she made a "mistake" with her former CEO, the public should not have treated her that way.
She told Winfrey: “I own the poor decision that I made in that moment, and I’ve paid an unimaginable price for that.”
The former HR executive additionally told the Globe: “I made a really poor judgment call in the moment. I’m not denying that or being defensive about that. But, I mean, you shouldn’t be killed for that.”

Months after the now-infamous Coldplay kiss cam moment went viral, the woman at the center of the scandal is finally speaking out, and she's making one thing clear: it wasn’t an affair.
Kristin Cabot, 53, a former Chief People Officer at tech firm Astronomer, was caught cuddling up to then-CEO Andy Byron, 51, on a massive jumbotron during Coldplay’s July 16 concert at Gillette Stadium in Foxborough, Massachusetts.
The moment instantly blew up online, especially after frontman Chris Martin called it out in real time.
“Either they’re having an affair, or they’re very shy,” he joked, as Cabot tried to hide her face and Byron muttered: “F****** hell, it’s me.”

In a new interview, Cabot says what the crowd saw was a “one-time, alcohol-fueled mistake” - not a relationship.
“I made a bad decision and had a couple of High Noons and danced and acted inappropriately with my boss,” she told The New York Times. “And it's not nothing. And I took accountability and I gave up my career for that. That's the price I chose to pay.”
She admitted to having a “crush” on her boss and said she was excited to introduce him to her friends, but claimed they had not even kissed before that night.
Despite drinking tequila cocktails, dancing, and sharing a kiss in the VIP balcony, she insisted that it was the first and only time.
Still, the backlash was swift and brutal. Cabot says she received more than 60 threats on her life, was branded an “adulterer” in public, and has faced constant online humiliation.
“I want my kids to know that you can make mistakes, and you can really screw up,” she said. “But you don’t have to be threatened to be killed for them.”
In a previous report, a source close to Cabot said the media got it all wrong as the former Chief People Officer was already in the process of divorcing her husband, Andrew, before attending the concert.
Ironically, he was also at the show that night - with a date of his own.
According to PEOPLE, they emphasized that while it was “inappropriate” for Cabot to hug her boss, whom she had an "excellent working relationship with," in public, there was no romantic involvement.
Cabot instantly knew how bad it looked. “I’m the head of HR and he’s the CEO. It’s, like, so cliché and so bad,” she recalled to the NYT.
She and Byron rushed to her Boston apartment and drafted an email to the company board, but it was too late; the footage had already gone viral on TikTok.
Amid the viral backlash, both resigned from their roles at Astronomer. The company issued a statement saying: “Our leaders are expected to set the standard… and recently, that standard was not met.”
Byron’s wife, Megan Kerrigan Byron, reportedly deleted her social media accounts and removed her surname from online profiles following the incident.
The scandal sparked a satirical response from the company. In a bizarre twist, they enlisted Gwyneth Paltrow for a tongue-in-cheek video campaign addressing the saga.
Behind the viral memes and headlines, Cabot - who has been focusing on her children and family - says the social media backlash was devastating.
“What I’ve seen these last months makes it harder for me to believe that it’s all about the men holding us back,” she said. “I think we are holding ourselves back tremendously by cutting each other down.”

Kristin Cabot, who was filmed cuddling Astronomer CEO Andy Byron during a packed stadium show in July 2025, opened up about the now-infamous clip during a recent interview on Oprah Winfrey's podcast.
Cabot revealed that she and Byron are no longer in contact, saying their relationship fell apart months after the scandal.
"There was a big miss on honesty and integrity," she said.
"He wasn't the person he represented himself to be, to me - and lying is a non-negotiable for me."
Cabot chose not to go into full detail about what happened, but said: "I wanna be really careful, because the world spoke for me and on my behalf, and I don't wanna do that to somebody else and their family.

She admitted the thought briefly crossed her mind about running into him: "In my mind, I thought, well, is this going to be weird if he sees me with Andy? Like that crossed my mind. If I run into him."
"But then I was like, I’m in Gillette Stadium, there’s 55 thousand people here, I’m probably not going to run into him," she said.
"But it doesn’t matter... that would’ve been better at the end of the day if I’d just run into him, but he knows how closely Andy and I work together. He knows we socially got lunches and got drinks. It was fine."
"He knows the nature of my work and the way (I work). I’ve shared desks with the CEOs I work with. It’s a very close relationship so it didn’t matter," she added.
The scandal erupted when Chris Martin spotted the pair on the stadium screen and joked: "Either they’re having an affair, or they’re just very shy."
Footage showed Cabot attempting to cover her face while Byron reacted in panic, later saying: "F****** hell, it’s me."

She offered a compassionate take: “I hope their partners can heal from this and get a second chance at the happiness they deserve with their future still in front of them. I hope, for them, my video was a blessing in disguise.”
Grace traveled to Boston with friends to see the British band and said the incident was the talk of the night. “It was definitely a hot topic, but no one knew who they were,” she added.
Uploaded to TikTok late Thursday, Grace’s video initially attracted a few thousand views. By the time she woke up, it had surged to seven million - and the number continues to climb.
Insiders from the production crew stress the moment was spontaneous, not staged. One told The U.S. Sun: “At a concert tour like this one, the cameraman/woman… are just scanning the crowd and picking up random people.”
Another added: “It’s a shtick Chris does every show, picking out audience members etc. Their reaction made it much worse – very cringey.”
Calls for clarification went to Astronomer, but the company has not issued a statement. Byron and Cabot haven’t spoken publicly about the incident either.

A man who shares a name with Astronomer CEO Andy Byron was forced to speak out after footage from a Coldplay gig went viral.
Astronomer CEO Andy Byron was captured on Coldplay's "kiss cam" during a recent concert in Massachusetts, standing behind the company's HR chief Kristin Cabot, with his arms wrapped around her waist as they bobbed to the music together.
As frontman Chris Martin said into the microphone: "Oh, look at these two," Cabot was seen looking shocked and covering her face, while Byron ducked down and disappeared out of shot, never to be seen again.
Cabot then turned her back to the camera as Martin joked: "Alright, come on - you're ok. Ok, what? Either they're having an affair, or they're just very shy."
The footage quickly went viral after it was discovered that Cabot and Byron are both married to other people, however, the nature of their personal relationship remains unconfirmed.
Now, another Andy Byron - who is a video designer at Stylo Motion Design - has been compelled to speak out after people tracked him down on networking site LinkedIn, believing he is the man in the footage.
He updated his LinkedIn bio to read: “NOT THE GUY FROM THE COLDPLAY GIG!!”, before telling his connections: "No, this isn't me. I wouldn't be caught dead at a Coldplay concert."
He went on to add: "I'm the Andy Byron who makes videos for big screens, not the one who gets caught on them. If you want to make video content that goes viral for the right reasons, let's connect," ending his post with a crying-laughing emoji.
Neither the real Byron nor Cabot have yet to release a statement, however, a false statement purporting to be from the CEO began circulating.
Astronomer quickly shut down the rumors with a statement to TMZ confirming that the image that has been shared is "not a real statement".
