Back in the day, Halle Berry was known as the ultimate sex symbol. And nowadays? Yup, still definitely the ultimate sex symbol!

The American actress proved that she is thriving at age 52 when she recently took to social media to showcase her new tattoo to her 4.7 million followers.

Posting a topless snap on Instagram of her cooking in the kitchen, she revealed a monochrome inking of a vine with leaves on both sides. The large tattoo stretched from her lower back all the way up to her neck and highlighted her toned figure.

It's uncertain if the new marking is real, but we do know that the Catwomen actress is excited about the inking, because she uploaded it both to her Instagram main page and her Instagram Story. She jokingly captioned her posts: "Who says I'm not a mermaid".

Her fans online adored her new tattoo, with one writing: "On my goodness:. Is that a real tattoo? Your a goddess if it is.. [sic]"

Another put "Of course you're not a mermaid ...because actually you're goddess @halleberry [sic]," while a third person said: "I wasn't sure before but now I'm convinced you really are a mermaid ❤️ [sic]".

The 2002 Academy Award Best Actress winner is a regular contributor on social media, with her millions of followers always looking forward to her #FridayFitness uploads, in which she spills details about her wellness regimen.

She also made her alliances clear on social media before the 2019 Oscars, when she posted a supportive message for director Spike Lee.

The Cloud Atlas star, who starred in Spike's early feature Jungle Fever as drug addict Vivian, uploaded an image of herself looking mischievously over her shoulder while wearing a Spike Lee jacket.

Her caption read: "If I were going to #Oscars tonight, this is how I’d go...in my original Spike Lee Joint! I’m rooting like crazy for my friend @officialspikelee".

On the night, the filmmaker reportedly attempted to storm out of the Dolby Theatre when it was announced that Green Book won Best Picture.

According to various eyewitness accounts, the 61-year-old was 'visibly angry'  and returned to his seat afterwards to get into an "intense conversation" with Get Out director Jordan Peele, who allegedly refused to clap for the Green Book cast too.

Halle is currently working as an executive producer on a new TV show called Boomerang which is airing on American channel BET at the moment. She can be seen in movie theatres later this year when she stars as an assassin and a friend to John Wick in John Wick: Chapter 3 — Parabellum alongside Keanu Reeves. The film is released nationwide on May 17.

In the meantime, we will be scouring her Instagram page for health tips and spectacular inkings!
