Katey Sagal was hospitalized earlier this week after being hit by a car in Los Angeles.
The 67-year-old actor - who is perhaps best known for her roles in Married With Children, Sons of Anarchy, 8 Simple Rules, and as the voice of Leela in Futurama - was hit by a Tesla just before midday on Thursday.
As reported by TMZ, the driver failed to see Sagal as she was walking on a crosswalk, and knocked her down. As of this writing, no arrests or citations have been made, and no alcohol or drugs were involved.
However, the outlet reports that the incident is still under investigation.
The driver of the vehicle did reportedly get out of the car to attend to Sagal, before she was transported by ambulance to a nearby hospital.
Fortunately, Page Six has reported that Sagal is expected to fully recover from her injuries, and her husband, Kurt Sutter, has even taken social media to crack some lighthearted jokes regarding the incident.
Sharing a screenshot of the Page Six headline reporting on the news, Sutter captioned the post: "She’s the only one bringing in money right now… so I’ll be picking her up from the hospital later, taking her to that Dancing With the Stars audition."
Both TMZ and Page Six report that the actor was expected to be released from hospital on Friday (October 15).
Many fans have taken to social media to wish Sagal all the best with her recovery, with one person commenting on Sutter's post: "My heart almost sank today with all the headlines, but glad to know this national treasure is gonna make a full recovery!"
Sagal became a household name after spending 10 years playing Peggy Bundy on the hit sitcom Married... with Children.
Along with her many starring roles, Sagal has also become a sought-after guest star on many shows, appearing in the likes of Brooklyn Nine-Nine, Lost, The Big Bang Theory, and Shameless.
We wish Sagal all the best with her recovery.
