LeBron James had a clever response for the crowd after getting booed at the Super Bowl LVII.
On Sunday, the Kansas City Chiefs became NFL champions for the second time in four years after fighting back to claim an exhilarating 38-35 win over the Philadelphia Eagles.
Patrick Mahomes proved why he is the NFL’s Most Valuable Player as he shrugged off an ankle injury to lead the team to a dramatic victory so they could earn their second Super Bowl in four years.
But prior to the excellent match conclusion, the 38-year-old Basketball player was shown on the jumbotron sitting next to his wife, Savannah James.
Watch the moment below:However, when he popped up on the screen inside State Farm Stadium in Glendale, Arizona, he surprisingly got booed by the massive crowd.
But the athlete is never one to back down from insults so he made a gesture of putting an imaginary crown on his head - which is a symbol of his nickname: King James.
Many users took to the social media platform to comment on his clap back, with one person writing: "LeBron handles his haters better than any athlete."
Another said: "Period king….. tell em hating don’t stop the show."
A third remarked: "Crown King."
A fourth commented: "Hating for nothing!! All good kingjames!! Some people hate greatness unfortunately."
Earlier this week, James passed Kareem Abdul-Jabbar to become the NBA's all-time leading scorer in a Lakers game against the Thunder. Abdul Jabbar’s previous record was 38,387 points, and the record existed since he retired from the sport in 1989.
As cited by The New York Post, the record-breaking athlete spoke to a crowd after claiming the victory and said: "Just want to say thank you to the Laker faithful, you guys are one of a kind."
"To be in the presence of a legend and one of the greatest such as Kareem is humbling. Give a standing ovation to the captain, please. Everybody that’s ever been a part of this run for the last 20 years, I just want to say thank you. … F*** man… thank you guys!" he added.
James has missed the Lakers' last two games since the record-setting performance due to an ankle injury. However, at the Super Bowl, he had time to comment on Rihanna's pregnancy-revealing performance as he took to Twitter to write: "Rih got so many killer tracks!!!!".
The 34-year-old hitmaker performed a medley of her greatest songs including 'Where Have You Been', 'Rude Boy', and 'Diamonds', and opened the show with her iconic 'B***h Better Have My Money'.
She sported a PVC bustier and an unzipped bright red jumpsuit that unveiled her baby bump. After she was spotted cradling and caressing her tummy during her performance, her rep confirmed that she is expecting her second baby with A$AP Rocky.
Congratulations to Rihanna and A$AP Rocky!
