An autopsy and police report has revealed new details regarding Stephen 'tWitch' Boss's heartbreaking death.

On December 13, 2022, it was announced that Boss - who was best known for his role as house DJ on The Ellen DeGeneres Show - had tragically passed away at the age of 40.

The professional dancer's body was discovered at a hotel after having taken his own life. According to reports at the time, police officials revealed that Boss had taken an Uber from his home to a hotel less than a mile away that morning, switching his phone to airplane mode so no one could reach him.

His 35-year-old wife, Allison Holker, rushed to the police station when she noticed that her husband hadn't been in contact, which she described as very "unusual" of him especially since the couple hadn't been experiencing any "arguments or issues" at home.

Later on, employees at the hotel were forced to enter Boss's room after he failed to check out the following morning. Upon entering, they discovered his belongings still in the room before finding his body in the bathroom and immediately called 911.

The TV star's cause of death was ruled as suicide by a coroner. In a separate statement to People, county officials confirmed that the dancer died of a self-inflicted gunshot wound at a motel in the Encino area of Los Angeles.

According to further information released by TMZ, Boss allegedly left a note before his death, which "ambiguously" hinted at his "past challenges," but the outlet went on to add that it was "unclear exactly what he was referring to".

Five months after his death, it has been determined through a postmortem examination obtained by The New York Post that the former So You Think You Can Dance contestant had no drugs or alcohol in his system at the time of his passing.

In addition to this, the document revealed that Holker told officers that "to her knowledge, [Boss] does not have a history of suicide attempts or suicidal ideation," and that Boss did "not have any mental health problems, does not have any financial issues or marital problems".

Boss started DJing on the Ellen Show in 2014 and was made an executive producer on the show in 2020 - remaining there until the show's cancellation in 2022.

He first found fame in 2008 on So You Think You Can Dance, before appearing in several shows and films, including starring as Jason in Step Up, and later Magic Mike XXL.

In March, his widow took to Instagram to pen a heartbreaking message to the couple's three children. She spoke of her dedication to the well-being of each of them.

"My loves we are stronger than you could ever imagine. And we will stand strong together as a unit, and find the courage to hold each other up," she captioned the picture of her three-year-old girl Zaia, six-year-old son Maddox, and 14-year-old daughter, Weslie.

"I will be here for you every step of the way through the highs and lows, the ups and the downs," she continued. "I will protect and I will guide, I will be a listening ear, a shoulder to cry on, I will have mom jokes ready for when you need a good laugh. The love and light inside our hearts will still shine. I love you forever and always. Mommy."
