Eleanor "Ellie" Moon, a finalist from Season 4 of the web-based reality show "Fishtank," has passed away at the age of 19. Her sister confirmed the news publicly, noting that the death occurred in May. The family requested privacy to mourn in peace and asked the public to let the matter rest rather than spreading internet rumors.
Ellie's sister shared that the former contestant died by suicide, explaining that Ellie battled suicidal tendencies since childhood and likely suffered from an untreated mental health condition. The family explicitly denied online speculation suggesting that an overdose or illegal substances were involved in her death.
The family emphasized that Ellie's participation in the reality series did not contribute to her actions. Her sister wanted to ensure that the production team did not receive blame for the tragedy, stating clearly that Ellie loved her time on the broadcast. She wrote, "Let me be clear, Jet, Fishtank, and the whole thing had nothing to do with her taking her life," to dispel outside assumptions.
According to the family, Ellie looked forward to participating in the competition and considered her stay in the house one of the most significant moments of her life. The sister also expressed gratitude to the crew for the support they offered to the family during their grief.
Ellie entered the house at age 18, making her the first contestant introduced in Season 4. As one of the youngest participants, she initially kept to herself but grew more assertive and talkative with her fellow contestants as the season progressed. She remained in the competition until the season came to an abrupt end on Day 18.
The production concluded early on June 30, 2025, due to legal issues across three separate filming locations. Because of the sudden conclusion, all remaining finalists received an equal grand prize of $8,000. This loss marks the third public death of a former participant from the show, following the passing of Season 5 cast member SuzieSmalls on July 13.

Reality TV fans are mourning the loss of Season 27 contestant Mickey C. Lee, who passed away on Christmas Day at just 35 years old.
Her family confirmed the heartbreaking news on Instagram, just days after revealing she had suffered multiple cardiac arrests and was fighting for her life in the ICU.
Mickey's health crisis was first made public on December 23, when her loved ones launched a GoFundMe campaign to help with soaring medical costs.
The fundraiser was promoted on her official Instagram, where they shared the extent of her condition.
The post read that following several cardiac arrests, Mickey was “in the ICU in critical but stable condition.”
It added: “This sudden health crisis has left Mickey and her family facing enormous emotional and financial strain from mounting hospital bills to ongoing care and recovery costs.”
The GoFundMe quickly gained traction, raising $31,807 at the time this story was published - reaching 80% of the initial goal.
But just two days later, on December 25, her family returned with the news no one wanted to hear.
“With profound sadness, the family of Mickey Lee announces her transition on Christmas in the early evening,” they wrote.
“Mickey captured the hearts of audiences nationwide through her appearance on Big Brother, where her authenticity, strength, and spirit left a lasting impression on fans and fellow cast members alike.
"She will be remembered for the joy she brought into the lives of so many and for the genuine connections she formed both on and off screen.
"The family extends their deepest gratitude to everyone who has offered prayers, love, and support during this incredibly difficult time. Your kindness has been felt and is sincerely appreciated.”
They ended the post with a request for privacy and a powerful final tribute: “Mickey’s light, legacy, and impact will never be forgotten.”
Mickey joined the cast of “Big Brother” Season 27 earlier in 2025, but her journey on the show ended after 59 days, when she was evicted from the house. That was just three months before her tragic death.
An influencer has revealed their two-year-old daughter tragically died after she drowned in the swimming pool at the family's Georgia home.
According to the Daily Mail, Jamal Morton, known to millions online as J'Amore or Mr Jay, said his daughter Rose died on Sunday after wandering into the backyard of their home in Hoschton and entering the family's swimming pool by herself.
The content creator announced the heartbreaking news on Facebook, writing: "You were the best daughter a father could ever ask for. Losing a child is a pain I wouldn’t wish on my worst enemy.
"I lost my daughter. I hope heaven is real because i can’t imagine you being all alone by yourself. So god if you’re real please watch over my baby. Rest in Peace my sweet angel. Daddy loves you forever Rose," he added.
The coroner's office confirmed Rose's death to the outlet but said her exact cause of death has not yet been determined.
The 33-year-old father of six told his followers that he will be stepping away from social media as he grieves.
Although new videos have continued appearing on his accounts, Morton's management team said he is not the one posting them.
"We want to let everyone know that J’Amore’s social media accounts are currently being managed by his team. At this time, he is not online, posting content, responding to messages, or actively managing his pages," the team said. "Management is keeping his platforms running while he and his family take time to grieve the heartbreaking loss of their baby girl.
"This is an incredibly difficult time, and we ask for your understanding, prayers, and respect for their privacy as they navigate this unimaginable loss," they added.
Morton launched his TikTok account in 2022 and built a following by sharing comedy sketches inspired by family life. His children, including Rose, regularly appeared in his videos.
Following the heartbreaking news of Rose's death, one particular clip has resurfaced online.
Per Daily Mail, the clip was originally shared in April 2025 and captured the toddler taking some of her first steps as she carefully made her way toward her father near the edge of the family's unfenced swimming pool.
Morton is one of several social media personalities who have experienced the unimaginable loss of a child in a pool drowning.
Earlier this year, influencer Emilie Kiser opened up about the death of her three-year-old son, Trigg, who died six days after falling into the family's backyard pool in Arizona in May 2025.
Speaking on Jay Shetty's On Purpose podcast, Kiser reflected on how quickly life can change.
"Losing a child really shows you in the scariest, most real way possible just how quickly life can change, and how quickly life can be literally taken away," she said.
She also described choosing every day to keep moving forward for her younger son.
"I always try to remind myself that I have a choice to make," she continued. "I can either let this completely derail me more than it already has, and not really feel like I'm fit or able to take care of my younger son, or I can do everything in my power to be the best mom I possibly can for him, and give him the same love that Trigg had and has."
Kiser is now using her platform to encourage parents to take extra precautions around pools.
"This is a topic that I will continue to talk about when I feel comfortable, because it is so extremely hard to talk about, and I hope that people can understand that," she said.
"Our son's death was very preventable. It was an accident, but it was a preventable accident. I will always take full accountability for that, because as a parent, it is your job to protect your child.
"Drowning is the number one cause of death in children three and under," Emilie added. "And that is an extremely hard statistic to swallow because I truly just can't believe how much it happens."
She urged parents to install pool fences, maintain working door alarms, and closely supervise children around water.
"I really hope that if you see this video, you please, please, please install a pool fence. Make sure you have door alarms. Make sure if you have door alarms, all of your batteries are updated. Please make sure that you watch your children around water," she added.
