Rob Reiner and Michelle Reiner’s final messages revealed after their horrific murders
New details have emerged about Rob and Michele Reiner in the days before they were brutally killed, with loved ones revealing the couple had sent out handwritten holiday cards and bonuses shortly before their deaths.
The story has resonated deeply online after one recipient shared the final message she received from them.
Trainer Shares Emotional Tribute After Receiving Card
On Monday, Neda Soderqvist, who worked as Michele Reiner’s trainer, shared a photo of a handwritten card she received in the mail. “Today in the mail was a card from Michele and Rob Reiner!” she wrote alongside the image, News.com.au reports.
Soderqvist said she was deeply moved to discover that, even after their deaths, bonuses the couple had arranged were still being delivered.
“Even from heaven, they are still making sure that everyone receives their bonuses,” she wrote. “What really truly touches my soul and heart are the cards that Michele wrote me.”
She added that Michele always made her promise to spend the bonus on herself rather than giving it away.
Honouring Michele’s Legacy
Soderqvist said she plans to keep $100 of the money and donate the rest in Michele’s honour to a foundation she knows Michele cared deeply about.
“Thank you for being my best friend ride or die,” she wrote. “Someone who taught me self-worth and self-love. I will keep your legacy going forever, and I give you my oath that I’ll be here for your children.”
The handwritten card included a warm message from Michele that reflected the closeness of their relationship.
“Dear Neda – What can I say after all these years! We love each other, are mad at each other, and then just move on! And it always works out!” the note read.
“I hope you have a great holiday with your family who adore you – love Michele and Rob.”
Couple Killed in Brentwood Home
Michele Reiner, 70, and her husband Rob Reiner, 78, were fatally stabbed in their Brentwood, California, home on December 14. The Los Angeles County Medical Examiner’s Office later confirmed the couple died from multiple sharp force injuries.
The two had been married since 1989 and were well known within their community.
Son Arrested and Charged With Murder
The couple’s youngest son, Nick Reiner, 32, has been arrested and charged with two counts of first-degree murder.
Nick, a writer whose credits include Being Charlie, has reportedly been diagnosed with schizophrenia. According to reports, the medication he was taking allegedly made him “erratic and dangerous.”
TMZ has reported that Nick may plead not guilty by reason of insanity due to his mental disorder.
Family Slowly Returns to Public View
Rob and Michele Reiner’s other two children, Jake and Romy Reiner, have recently begun to reappear in public following the tragedy.
Photos obtained by Page Six showed the siblings spending time together on a Malibu beach, presenting a united front as they continue to grieve.
They are reportedly staying at a Malibu beach house following the deaths of their parents.
