3-word message on sweater allegedly worn by married teacher during 'sex with student'
A 25-year-old married teacher in Georgia is facing new allegations in connection with the alleged sexual abuse of six teenagers at the high school where she worked. Maris Nichols, who was arrested in May, is now the subject of newly filed court papers that contain disturbing details about her alleged conduct with students at Alexander High School in Douglasville.
According to search warrants seen by Fox, Nichols was allegedly recorded having sex with a student while wearing a "Jesus Loves You" sweater. The documents also allege that she was being blackmailed by some students who had discovered she maintained an OnlyFans page and threatened to expose it in exchange for better grades in her class.
Warrants reveal scope of allegations
The Douglas County Sheriff's Office issued warrants to OnlyFans, Snapchat, AT&T, and a number of students and their families as part of its investigation. Authorities also sought medical records after learning that Nichols had previously received treatment for mental health issues, the court papers alleged.
Warrants previously seen by the Daily Mail allege that Nichols instructed one female victim to watch the R-rated Fifty Shades of Grey movies. The documents also claim she had sex with a student in the backseat of his truck at a local golf club on May 3.
Prosecutors say she sent explicit text messages, nude photos, and videos of herself using sex toys to several teens, including two under the age of 16.
School district responds
Nichols, who has a child, was taken into custody on a $74,000 bond after her initial arrest in early May. She was charged with having sex with a student in a school closet on April 23 and again in a vehicle off school grounds on May 2. After her first arrest, she was released on a $40,000 bail.
The Douglas County School System addressed parents following the allegations. "Student safety is the district's highest priority. The alleged behavior is unacceptable and violates the professional standards all employees are required to uphold," the district said. An internal investigation has been launched.
Parents express concerns
A concerned local mother previously told WSB-TV that the allegations were "heartbreaking." Parents told 11 Alive that their students received very little instruction from Nichols in class and worry their children will fall behind academically.
"We're not asking for special treatment. We are asking for transparency, accountability, and fairness," an anonymous parent told the outlet. "Unfortunately, our concerns have repeatedly been met with resistance, limited communication, and a lack of meaningful reassurance that appropriate measures are being taken to protect all children involved, including our own."
Nichols faces several charges, including child molestation, improper sexual contact by an employee, grooming of a minor for a sexual offense, and tampering with evidence.
