Donald Trump has undergone a medical examination before heading to the Middle East, and the results are quite surprising.
When Trump retook office, he became the oldest person in history to do so, meaning that when his term ends, he will be the oldest President in U.S. history.
Given his age and the fact that he openly states how much he loves fast food, people are often curious about his health.
Well, his recent medical exam has given him reason to gloat.
According to a memo from White House physician Sean Barbabella, the president’s cardiac age – determined through advanced testing – is “approximately 14 years younger than his chronological age,” as reported by the New York Post.
The findings come after Trump completed a full suite of medical assessments at Walter Reed National Military Medical Center on Friday, including advanced imaging, blood work, and preventive screenings.
“President Trump continues to demonstrate excellent overall health,” Barbabella confirmed. “He continues to maintain a demanding daily schedule without restriction. President Donald J. Trump remains in exceptional health, exhibiting strong cardiovascular, pulmonary, neurological, and physical performance.”
The visit, described by Trump as a “semiannual physical,” also included his annual flu shot and an updated Covid-19 booster as he prepares for an upcoming trip to the Middle East following his involvement in brokering a ceasefire deal in Gaza.
Barbabella noted: “These evaluations were performed in coordination with leading academic and medical consultants to ensure optimal cardiovascular health and continued wellness.”
Trump’s lab results were described as “exceptional,” with “stable metabolic, hematologic, and cardiac parameters,” according to the Navy captain’s memo.
Barbabella’s assessment was addressed to White House press secretary Karoline Leavitt and released publicly on Friday.
This isn’t the first time Trump’s doctors have painted a glowing picture of his physical condition.
Back in April, Barbabella had similarly reported that Trump was “fully fit” to serve as commander in chief, citing both “excellent cognitive and physical health” and “frequent victories in golf events.”
At the time, Trump himself drew comparisons with former President Joe Biden, telling reporters he had aced a cognitive exam while criticizing Biden’s perceived mental decline. Barbabella backed this up, stating that Trump scored a “normal” 30 out of 30 on the test.
Despite the upbeat medical assessments, the president has not been entirely free of health issues.
In July, the White House revealed that Trump had been diagnosed with chronic venous insufficiency – a common circulatory condition – after noticing “mild swelling” in his lower legs, per Reuters.
The diagnosis followed photographs that showed swelling around his ankles and visible bruising on his right hand. Barbabella later explained the leg issue was due to “chronic venous insufficiency,” calling it “a benign and common condition, especially in people over 70 years old.”
He added that the bruising on Trump’s hand was “consistent with minor soft tissue irritation from frequent handshaking and aspirin use,” noting that Trump takes aspirin as part of a “standard cardiovascular prevention regimen.”
Medical professionals typically treat chronic venous insufficiency with compression stockings and increased physical activity to boost circulation – particularly relevant for sedentary individuals.
Despite his age, Barbabella emphasized that the president's health remains solid: “Trump remains in exceptional health, exhibiting strong cardiovascular, pulmonary, neurological, and physical performance.”

An ER doctor has shared a concerning message about Donald Trump's health following the president's recent medical report.
Trump, 79, has often raved about how good his health is, citing the many medical examinations he has had while in office.
However, people have still raised concerns over his wellness, after the President was often seen with bruising on his hands and swollen ankles, which are down to chronic venous insufficiency.
Now, practicing internist Dr Stuart Fischer - a former ER doctor - has warned Trump is "playing with fire" amid a potentially "very serious" condition flagged on his medical report.
Dr Fischer told the Daily Mail that while the latest medical report doesn't give enough information to fully evaluate the President's health, there is one aspect that sparks concern - his weight gain.
According to the report, Trump now weighs 238 pounds - an increase of 14lbs more than he weighed in April last year.
Dr Fischer advised: "Someone has got to really quietly sit down and talk with him, and say, 'You're playing with fire.'"
Trump is known for enjoying fast food, including McDonald's, and keeping your weight in check is key for everyone when it comes to living a long and healthy life.
The doctor did dismiss some of the concerns about the President's health as "foolish criticism", but told the outlet that Trump's weight gain could be down to something serious such as "a malignant form of circulatory problem… early congestive heart failure."
Congestive Heart Failure (CHF) occurs when the heart muscle becomes too weak or stiff to pump blood efficiently, causing it to back up and lead to fluid retention in the lungs, legs, and abdomen.
While the condition is serious, it can be managed with medicine as well as lifestyle changes, according to the Cleveland Clinic.
However, while the President's health report does not suggest that Trump has congestive heart failure, Dr Fischer also warned: "Maybe the heart is squeezing out a half or even a third in some people of what it should. This is potentially very serious."
Carrying excess weight can cause significant strain on the body, and Dr Fischer believes Trump's doctors should be encouraging him to improve his diet.
Dr Fischer noted that the health report does not state any significant issues, and that the President's fatigue is likely due to his busy work schedule, with the regular medical tests being done to prevent any issues going unnoticed, rather than being a cause for concern in themselves.
A report from Dr. Sean Barbabella, Trump's physician, which was released last week, says the President underwent a CT scan and other heart imaging, along with cancer screenings and other preventative assessments carried out by 22 specialists.
Dr Barbabella said the 79-year-old was in "excellent health" and is "fully fit" to serve.
Trump added that everything checked out "perfectly" at his three-hour appointment, with doctors sharing guidance on his diet, physical activity and weight loss.
He added that his "cognitive and physical performance are excellent."
The report also addressed the repeated bruising on Trump’s hands, explained as "minor soft tissue irritation related to frequent handshaking," and as "a common and benign effect of aspirin therapy."
Dr Barbabella added: "His demanding daily schedule, including multiple high-level meetings, public engagements, and regular physical activity, continues to support his overall well-being."

President Donald Trump has given his followers an update on his recent medical tests after some shared worries over his health.
The POTUS, 79, took to Truth Social to reassure people that he is in "perfect health" after undergoing recent tests.
It comes after the publication of a Wall Street Journal interview that touched on the frequent bruises visible on his hands, his hearing, and a recent CT scan he underwent, as it examined his health at the end of the first year of his second term in office.
Trump took to Truth Social to claim: "The White House Doctors have just reported that I am in 'PERFECT HEALTH,' and that I 'ACED' (Meaning, was correct on 100% of the questions asked!), for the third straight time, my Cognitive Examination, something which no other President, or previous Vice President, was willing to take."
He added: "P.S., I strongly believe that anyone running for President, or Vice President, should be mandatorily forced to take a strong, meaningful, and proven Cognitive Examination.
"Our great Country cannot be run by 'STUPID' or INCOMPETENT PEOPLE! President DJT."
One area critics have focused on is Trump's hands, which have often appeared bruised or covered in make-up.
The White House had attributed the bruising to the president's frequent handshaking with people he meets, which had allegedly caused the marks.
Trump, who is set to turn 80 years old in June, revealed that he believes it's due to the daily aspirin he takes, which is a higher dose than is usually recommended.
He told the WSJ that his doctors would "rather have me take the smaller one [baby aspirin]. I take the larger one, but I’ve done it for years, and what it does do, is it causes bruising.
"They say aspirin is good for thinning out the blood, and I don’t want thick blood pouring through my heart. I want nice, thin blood pouring through my heart. Does that make sense?"
Trump and his physician, Dr. Sean Barbabella, also clarified that the president underwent a CT scan during a physical examination at Walter Reed National Military Medical Center October 10, not an MRI as previously claimed.
The president added to the outlet: "I would have been a lot better off if they didn’t [do the scan], because the fact that I took it said, ‘Oh gee, is something wrong?’ Well, nothing’s wrong."
Trump also denied claims that he sometimes has trouble hearing people in meetings and said that the photos of him "dozing off" during public events were actually just taken while he was "blinking".
He also revealed that golf is his main form of exercise is golf as he finds other workouts "boring".
Trump's health has been in the spotlight in the past year after the White House acknowledged in July that he was diagnosed with chronic venous insufficiency, a blood circulation issue that causes swelling in the lower legs.
He also revealed that he'd tried to wear compression socks to help with the symptoms but stopped as "I didn’t like them."
Following the release of the WSJ interview, Barbabella released a statement saying that Trump "remains in exceptional health and perfectly suited to execute his duties as Commander in Chief."
If Trump completes his four-year term in January 2029, he will make history as the oldest man to ever hold office, beating his predecessor Joe Biden who currently holds that accolade.

Donald Trump, at 79 years old, has found himself at the center of scrutiny once again following his recent admission about a dementia screening test. The president openly shared that he found the test, which included identifying animals like “a tiger, an elephant, a giraffe,” to be “very hard.”
While Trump also claimed to have earned a "perfect score" on his MRI - his second of the year - the internet has been quick to react, raising new questions about his cognitive health.
Trump's comments about the test have sparked a variety of responses, especially given the nature of the test and his age. Medical experts and critics alike have used his remarks to suggest that his cognitive abilities may be cause for concern, given his struggle with something as simple as identifying animals.
His public statements on these medical matters have only fueled the growing debate about his overall health.
The reaction online has been a mix of humor and concern. Some have mocked his comments, while others have raised serious questions about his cognitive function.
David Pakman, a political commentator, posted on X (formerly Twitter), “Trump admitted today that he found the dementia screening test very difficult. Really says a lot.” His post has gained traction, resonating with those who are questioning whether the president's cognitive health should be more closely examined.
BrooklynDad_Defiant! also commented on the situation, pointing out that Trump’s bragging about a “perfect score” on his MRI, while simultaneously calling the dementia test "very hard," might suggest that he’s not doing as well as he claims.
He wrote on X, “If you’re bragging about getting a ‘perfect score’ on an MRI as well as a dementia test, while also saying that dementia test (where you point out zebras and rhinos) is a very hard test, you’re not doing well.”
Adding to the online discourse, Representative Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez had a pointed question for Trump.
She tweeted, “Hello Mr. President! Out of curiosity, did those doctors ask you to draw a clock by any chance? Was that part hard for you, too? Asking for 340 million people.”
Her tweet highlighted the common aspects of a dementia screening that involve drawing a clock, a test often used to detect cognitive decline. It seems her post was a direct challenge to Trump’s earlier statements, asking if he could manage even simpler tasks that are typically part of such exams.
The debate over Trump's health has taken on a larger significance in the political world. His medical status, now a more prominent issue, has sparked renewed discussions about his ability to effectively govern.
As the scrutiny continues, it remains to be seen whether these health concerns will have an impact on his future political aspirations.
