Students of a Georgia high school teacher accused of sexual assault allegedly attempted to blackmail her after discovering she had an OnlyFans account, according to newly reported search warrants.
The claims were first detailed in warrants cited by multiple outlets, including Fox 5, WSB, and Atlanta News First.
Maris Nichols, 25, who taught at Alexander High School in Douglasville, was first arrested in May on charges of sexual assault by someone in a position of authority.
She had already been accused of engaging in sexual acts with students on more than one occasion, including incidents that allegedly took place in a school closet and in the backseat of a student’s truck at a golf course.
According to investigators, students later became aware of Nichols’ OnlyFans account.
During the investigation, there were reports that some students used this information as leverage, allegedly threatening to expose the account unless they received better grades.
Authorities have not confirmed whether the blackmail claims are true, but the allegations were cited as part of the justification for obtaining records from OnlyFans.
Earlier court filings also included further troubling accusations.
Nichols was alleged to have made a female student watch Fifty Shades of Grey and sent explicit messages to male students, including one in which she said 'she liked to be choked, screamed at, slapped, and whipped during sexual encounters.'
It remains unclear whether Nichols has formally entered a plea.
In response, the Douglas County School System said: “The Douglas County School System is deeply troubled by allegations against an individual associated with one of our schools.
"Upon learning of the alleged misconduct, the district immediately launched an investigation.”
According to reports, Nichols broke house arrest conditions on 85 occasions, with prosecutors pursuing a cancelation of her bond.
The case remains under investigation.
