Following the news that Britney Spears has gotten engaged, it has been revealed that her new fiancé added a cute touch to the star's engagement ring.
The pair announced their engagement last night on social media, with Britney, 39, sharing a sweet video of the couple with her 34 million Instagram followers. In the brief clip, Spears can be seen repeatedly flashing her ring and giving fiancé Sam Asghari a kiss on the cheek.
The 'Stronger' singer captioned her post: ""I can’t f***ing believe it."
Asghari - a 27-year-old actor and a fitness trainer - also shared a photo of the couple with his followers, with Britney's diamond ring taking focus:
And per Page Six, it would seem a lot of thought went into the piece of jewelry, with Asghari saying in a statement: "Every designer I spoke with about the ring was amazing with great ideas, but I just clicked with [Roman Malayev] — we really connected on the design and he was as excited as I was to make it special — that’s why I chose him."
Malayev is the New York-based designer behind the "one of a kind" piece. The Post reports that the ring featured a 4-carat round brilliant stone set in a platinum cathedral setting. The diamond is said to have been "enhanced" by the ring's floating solitaire design.
And to add even more cuteness to this romantic overload, Asghari reportedly had his nickname for Britney engraved inside the band: "Lioness".
In a press release, Malayev - who is also the founder and master jeweler of Forever Diamonds NY - revealed that, on behalf of himself and his company, he "couldn’t feel more honored to create this ring for such a special couple."
Spears and Asghari first met on the set of a music video back in 2016.
Asghari's manager, Brandon Cohen, told PEOPLE in a statement: "The couple made their long-standing relationship official today and are deeply touched by the support, dedication, and love expressed to them."
Over on social media, despite the singer being flooded with praise and celebratory messages, she also received many comments calling for her to make sure the couple sign a prenuptial agreement.
Even Academy Award-winning actress Octavia Spencer took to her comments section to share the advice, bluntly writing: "Make him sign a prenup."
Asghari has since responded to the comments, writing on his Instagram Stories just hours later: "That you to everyone who is concerned about The prenup! Of course we're getting iron clad prenup to protect my jeep and shoe collection [in case] she dumps me one day".
The couple's engagement comes less than seven days after Spears' dad, Jamie Spears, formally filed to end the 13-year conservatorship that has seen him oversee his daughter's life and finances.
Britney has been very vocal about her desire to have the highly publicized conservatorship come to an end. Back in July, the Britney told Judge Brenda Penny: "This conservatorship is literally allowing my dad to rule my life… that is abuse, and we all know it. I’m angry, and I will go there."
Her 69-year-old father has now stated in his latest petition to the courts: "Recent events related to this conservatorship have called into question whether circumstances have changed to such an extent that grounds for establishment of a conservatorship may no longer exist."
"If Ms Spears wants to terminate the conservatorship and believes that she can handle her own life, Mr Spears believes that she should get that chance," the filing adds.
