Britney Spears and Sam Asghari have officially tied the knot.
After almost five years of dating, the 40-year-old pop star married her 28-year-old fiancé in an intimate ceremony on Thursday (June 9).
The couple first met in 2016 on the set of her 'Slumber Party' music video and got engaged on September 12, 2021. Last year, Spears announced to her 41.3 million Instagram followers that she and her beau were engaged.
Per E! News, the 'Baby One More Time' singer wore a gown created by Donatella Versace for her big day and completed her bridal look with jewelry from Stephanie Gottlieb and makeup by Charlotte Tilbury.
A source also added that the singer walked down the aisle to Elvis Presley's 1961 hit 'Can't Help Falling In Love'.
Close insiders told the publication that the couple's wedding was very intimate, saying: "It was very private and romantic, everything she wanted."
They added: "Britney has told Sam that he is her soul mate and that she is so grateful to have him, especially during these hard times."
The couple's nuptials come after the 'Toxic' singer's 13-year conservatorship which ended in November 2021. The conservatorship had seen the singer's father Jamie Spears control many aspects of her life.
Because of her conservatorship, Spears was prevented from getting married or having a baby. She praised Asghari in the past for being by her side amid her lengthy legal battle with her dad.
In an affectionate post shared on Instagram last August, three months before the end of her conservatorship, the singer wrote: "Not only has this cute a**hole been with me through the hardest years of my life but he happens to be an extremely good cook!"
The 'Gimme More' singer's father, mother, and sister reportedly did not attend the wedding ceremony - as well as her sons Sean Preston Federline, 16, and Jayden James Federline, 15.
Some of the guests who did make the event were socialite Paris Hilton and actress Drew Barrymore.
The wedding comes after the pair, unfortunately, announced on May 14 that they had lost their "miracle baby" early on during Spears' pregnancy.
Spears and Asghari shared a joint statement on Instagram, writing: "It is with our deepest sadness we have to announce that we have lost our miracle baby early in the pregnancy," adding, "This is a devastating time for any parent."
The pair also revealed that they're leaning on one another for support, writing: "Our love for each other is our strength."
Congratulations to Spears and Asghari!
