Bruce Willis' wife, Emma Heming Willis, has shared an emotional video dedicated to her husband's fans on the actor's 68th birthday.

It's been a tough time for Willis and his family, with the model revealing last month that the Die Hard star had been diagnosed with frontotemporal dementia.

The news came nearly a year after his family announced that he would be "stepping away" from acting after he was diagnosed with aphasia - a brain condition that results in individuals struggling to communicate.

Taking to Instagram on Sunday, March 19, Heming Willis, 44, shared a sweet clip with her 715,000 followers, talking about the actor's big day.

Check out the video here:

She captioned the poignant post: "Today is one of those days of feeling the grief and sadness. But the silver lining or the flip side is that I’m so lucky to feel your warmth and love that is directed to my husband and our family.

"I see your messages, your stories that you share, and all I can say is thank you. Your connection helps me and I hope it helps you in a small way to know that I see you and I deeply understand your journey as well."

In the video, Heming Willis candidly reveals to her followers that she had started off the morning of her husband's birthday crying as she draws attention to her "swollen eyes" and "snotty mouth".

"I just think it’s important that you see all sides of this," she adds.

She goes on to say: "I always get this message where people always tell me, ‘Oh you’re so strong. I don’t know how you do it.’ I’m not given a choice. I wish I was but I’m also raising two kids in this."

"Sometimes in our lives, we have to put our big girl panties on and get to it. And that’s what I’m doing," the doting wife says. "But I do have times of sadness, every day, grief every day, and I’m really feeling it today on his birthday."

The mom of two also shares in the video that she is in the middle of putting together a reel for Willis' birthday.

"As much as I do it for myself I do it for you because I know how much you love my husband," she says before speaking to herself in the third person. "Don’t cry, Emma," she gently tells herself.

Some four hours after the post, she took to Instagram once more to share the reel she had made, featuring sentimental videos of Willis spending time with his family.

She captioned the upload: "He is pure love. He is so loved. And I’ll be loving him always. Happy Birthday my sweet My birthday wish for Bruce is that you continue to keep him in your prayers and highest vibrations because his sensitive Pisces soul will feel it. Thank you so much for loving and caring for him too."
