Sophie Turner is reportedly facing a challenging divorce battle with Joe Jonas.

According to documents acquired by The Messenger, Turner is suing Jonas to return their two children to their “forever home” in England, amid the mounting tensions surrounding their divorce proceedings.

Turner’s legal filings claim that the “wrongful retention” of their children started “on or about” September 20, invoking the Convention on the Civil Aspects of International Child Abduction.

These court documents outline the following objectives: to expedite the return of children illicitly removed or retained and to uphold the ‘rights to custody’ in diverse Contracting States.

The celebrity couple are parents to their three-year-old daughter Willa and another daughter, who joined the family in July last year.

Turner alleges Jonas is withholding their daughters’ passports, reneging on an alleged agreement for the children to rejoin their mother in England around the week of September 17. “Refuses to send the children home to England with their Mother,” Turner stressed in the filing.

Turner, best known for her role in Game of Thrones, contends that Jonas's actions represent a violation of her “rights of custody under English law.”

The documents disclose that both Turner and Jonas had shared a mutual desire to raise their daughters in England, initiating searches for a permanent abode as early as December last year.

They had envisaged an English education for their children, emphasizing their integral involvement in the daily and cultural life in England, participating in playdates, extracurricular, and cultural activities.

This separation, marked by Jonas filing for divorce earlier this month, caught Turner off guard, learning about it “through the media,” a source told The Messenger. It’s been revealed that the separation was initiated in August.

After four years of what appeared to be matrimonial bliss, the celebrity couple officially parted ways.

Taking to Instagram on September 6, Turner shared an announcement that quickly went viral, garnering over 179,000 likes within hours. It read: "Statement from the two of us: After four wonderful years of marriage we have mutually decided to amicably end our marriage.

"There are many speculative narratives as to why but, truly this is a united decision and we sincerely hope that everyone can respect our wishes for privacy for us and our children."

Jonas mirrored the post on his own Instagram, and both stars have turned off comments, maintaining a dignified silence amid speculation.
