Taylor Swift has reportedly upset some of her famous friends after one detail on her wedding invitations left guests less than thrilled.
Rumors surrounding Taylor Swift and Travis Kelce’s upcoming wedding are hitting fever pitch, with fresh claims suggesting the billionaire pop superstar and the Kansas City Chiefs tight end could tie the knot within weeks.
But while speculation around the power couple’s big day is exploding online, almost every major detail remains tightly under wraps. From the wedding date to the location to the celebrity guest list, insiders say very little has actually been confirmed.
One rumor making the rounds claims save-the-date notes were sent out for a lavish New York City celebration on July 3. However, some people within Swift’s orbit insist the couple are deliberately fueling confusion and having fun with the nonstop attention, possibly to throw paparazzi and fans off the scent.
The singer is preparing to marry Kelce later this year, with plans for the ceremony being kept tightly under wraps to avoid leaks before the big day. But according to a pal close to Swift, some Hollywood guests were caught off guard when invitations recently landed in their mailboxes.
The issue reportedly centers around Swift’s decision to limit plus-ones for many attendees, a move that has already caused frustration among some invitees.
According to the source, several celebrities invited to the wedding were not given the option to bring a guest with them.
“I know Selena Gomez is bringing her husband Benny Blanco, so she has a plus-one, but I am not allowed to have a plus-one because I am a single woman,” the guest told the Daily Mail.
“I get it, the venue can probably allow for only so many people, but it’s not the best feeling.”
The insider claimed the decision has become a hot topic among invitees, especially given the long-running social media debate around wedding etiquette and whether guests should automatically receive a plus-one.
The guest admitted the situation had even made them question attending the wedding at all.
“It’s the wedding of the year, but I may sit this one out because I am shy,” the guest said of the upcoming event, which will reportedly take place at a location only revealed to attendees on the morning of the ceremony.
Swift and Kelce are said to be going to major lengths to keep the wedding location private until the last possible moment.
“I get that too, she doesn’t want everyone knowing where she is getting married until the last minute for security reasons,” the insider said.
“Now it is one big guessing game, everyone is wondering where it will be. Probably a massive hotel like the Waldorf Astoria that has amazing security and access,” they added.
Despite the backlash, the source insisted they still support the singer and understand why such tight security measures are being put in place.
The pal reportedly said they “love” Swift, want “the best” for her and “get it”, while also not wanting to sound like a “major complainer”.
Swift and the Kansas City Chiefs tight end first began dating in August 2023 after Kelce attended her Eras Tour concert in Kansas City. The pair announced their engagement last year.
At the same time, Swift is also dealing with legal trouble connected to the title of her latest album, per The Hollywood Reporter.
Maren Wade, a former America’s Got Talent contestant and Las Vegas Weekly columnist behind Confessions of a Showgirl, filed a federal lawsuit on March 30, accusing Swift and affiliated companies of trademark infringement.
According to the complaint, Wade alleges Swift and Universal Music Group infringed on her long-running brand Confessions of a Showgirl, citing “trademark infringement, false designation and unfair competition”.

Taylor Swift and Travis Kelce’s tightly guarded wedding plans are already causing drama in Hollywood, with reports claiming some famous guests are furious over one controversial detail on their invitations.
Celebrity weddings have become massive global events, drawing huge attention from fans, media outlets, and brands alike. From extravagant venues and designer outfits to exclusive guest lists and viral social media moments, these ceremonies often generate headlines for weeks.
High-profile couples such as Kim Kardashian and Prince Harry turn their weddings into cultural moments that audiences eagerly follow in real time. The public fascination comes from a mix of glamour, romance, and curiosity about the private lives of famous people, making celebrity weddings feel less like personal ceremonies and more like worldwide entertainment spectacles.
Billionaire pop superstar Taylor Swift and the Kansas City Chiefs tight end Travis Kelce are expected to tie the knot later this year, but nearly every aspect of the ceremony remains secret. From the location to the date to the celebrity guest list, insiders say Swift and Kelce are determined to keep everything locked down until the very last minute.
Now, fresh reports suggest the couple’s strict wedding rules have upset several A-list invitees after some guests allegedly discovered they were not allowed to bring a plus-one.
Frustration is apparently growing among some attendees after invitations were sent out without plus-one options for certain guests.
“I know Selena Gomez is bringing her husband Benny Blanco, so she has a plus-one, but I am not allowed to have a plus-one because I am a single woman,” one guest reportedly told the Daily Mail.
“I get it, the venue can probably allow for only so many people, but it’s not the best feeling.”
The insider claimed the decision quickly became a major talking point among Swift’s famous circle, especially because wedding etiquette debates around plus-ones regularly explode online.
“It’s the wedding of the year, but I may sit this one out because I am shy,” the guest added.
The source also revealed attendees reportedly will not learn the wedding location until the morning of the ceremony itself, as Swift and Kelce try to avoid leaks and paparazzi chaos.
“I get that too, she doesn’t want everyone knowing where she is getting married until the last minute for security reasons,” the insider said.
“Now it is one big guessing game, everyone is wondering where it will be. Probably a massive hotel like the Waldorf Astoria that has amazing security and access.”
Questions are also swirling around which members of Swift’s famous inner circle will actually make the guest list.
According to Page Six, longtime friend Zoë Kravitz is expected to attend despite reports their relationship has recently been “bumpy.” However, Blake Lively’s invitation status appears far less certain following the fallout connected to the It Ends With Us legal battle involving Justin Baldoni.
One insider claimed Lively is “not believed to be on the list at present,” before adding: “I think there’s a far greater chance of it now that the case is settled.”
The source also said: “As evidenced by [her appearance at] the Met Gala, Blake is ready to be back out there … she will be there with bells on if she is invited. But that’s a huge if.”
Meanwhile, another source claimed Swift wants the wedding to follow the same ultra-private model as close friend Ed Sheeran’s secret 2018 ceremony.
“To this day no one knows exactly who attended Ed Sheeran’s wedding, and that’s the model for this one,” the insider said. “Total secrecy.”
Swift and Kelce reportedly want complete privacy for the ceremony, with insiders claiming any outdoor venue would become “a zoo” because of drones and helicopters.
While rumors suggested save-the-date cards had been sent for a July 3 event in New York City, one source dismissed the speculation entirely.
“That’s not when that wedding is happening. Trust me,” the insider said.
Despite the secrecy and reported frustration surrounding the guest list, sources say some names are guaranteed to attend, including Patrick and Brittany Mahomes, Selena Gomez, Ashley Avignone and Ed Sheeran.
Kelce’s side of the guest list may prove the biggest challenge, however.
“NFL weddings are massive,” one insider explained. “Very often these guys feel honor-bound to invite their entire team, and the WAGS of the team, and the coaching staff, and it just blows up really really quickly.”

Taylor Swift and Travis Kelce’s rumored wedding plans are once again sending fans into meltdown after reports claimed some of the singer’s celebrity friends are furious over one controversial detail included on the invitations.
Speculation around the couple’s big day has been building for months, with reports suggesting Swift and the Kansas City Chiefs star could marry before the NFL training camp begins on July 22. While almost every aspect of the ceremony remains tightly guarded, insiders claim invitations have now started circulating among the couple’s inner circle.
The latest drama reportedly centers around the couple’s strict plus-one policy, with some guests said to be unhappy after learning they would have to attend the wedding solo. The reports come as Swift and Kelce continue keeping details about the location, guest list, and official wedding date firmly under wraps.
According to reports from the Daily Mail, some celebrity guests were shocked to discover they had not been given the option to bring a plus one.
“I know Selena Gomez is bringing her husband Benny Blanco, so she has a plus-one, but I am not allowed to have a plus-one because I am a single woman,” the guest told the outlet.
“I get it, the venue can probably allow for only so many people, but it’s not the best feeling.”
The insider also claimed the issue has sparked conversations among guests about wedding etiquette, particularly over whether all attendees should automatically receive a plus one.
“It’s the wedding of the year, but I may sit this one out because I am shy,” the guest added.
Reports also suggest attendees will only learn the ceremony location on the morning of the wedding itself, as Swift and Kelce attempt to avoid leaks and unwanted attention.
Although rumors continue to swirl online, very little about the wedding has actually been confirmed publicly by the couple.
Following their engagement announcement on August 26, 2025, a source close to the pair told People: “Taylor and Travis have been in celebration mode ever since the engagement. They are not in the wedding planning phase yet.”
Another insider later added: “Right now they just want to enjoy being engaged, and they are going to take their time with it.”
Sources have also claimed the pair decided against hosting a huge public spectacle.
“[They] want to keep it more private,” the insider told People. “It will definitely be a private affair and not a spectacle. They both have a close circle of friends, and they’ll respect their privacy.”
Swift previously hinted she wants a destination wedding while promoting The Life of a Showgirl.
“You would think that I would’ve been the type of person who would've obsessed over the idea of a wedding my whole life,” she said. “But I actually never thought about what I would ever do… until I met the person.”
Kelce has also joked publicly about the planning process during an appearance on New Heights.
“That one’s gonna be easy,” he said. “I just gotta figure out how to win a football game first.”
He later added: “The wedding will be easy compared to how to fucking catch a goddamn football.”
Despite the secrecy, several famous names have already been linked to the wedding
People reported in April that Zoë Kravitz had received an invitation, while Prince William even hinted he hoped to make the guest list during an appearance on Heart Breakfast radio.
“No comment,” William replied when asked whether he had received an invite, before adding: “I’m hoping and I’m sure there might be an invitation around but we’ll see.”
Ed Sheeran also revealed in September 2025 that he had not received a save-the-date, although Swift later suggested he could still end up performing during the reception.
“It’s like, ‘Ed, if there’s a stage, you know that you’ll be on it,’” she joked.
She added: “That’s the fun thing about our friendship is we both love performing. We love what we do. We love to get up on stage. It’s actually not that hard to talk either of us into performing at anything.”
Meanwhile, rumors about a possible June 13 ceremony at Rhode Island’s Ocean House were quickly shut down by wedding planner Tara Guérard.
“I am the wedding planner for June 13th at the Ocean House in Rhode Island! Sorry to let you all know, Taylor is not my bride this weekend! Boo! Kindest, @taraguerard,” she wrote on Instagram.
For now, fans are still left piecing together clues as the couple continue keeping one of the most talked-about celebrity weddings firmly behind closed doors.

An A-list actor has reportedly been left off Taylor Swift and Travis Kelce's wedding guest list.
According to Page Six, actor Miles Teller and his wife, Keleigh Sperry, have not been invited to the nuptials despite previously being considered close friends of the couple.
No official reason for the reported snub has been given. However, the development comes months after it was rumored that there may have been some distance growing between the two couples.
The last time the 'Shake it Off' songstress, Teller, and Sperry were publicly seen together was in February 2024, when they celebrated alongside one another in a VIP suite during the Super Bowl as the Kansas City Chiefs defeated the San Francisco 49ers.
While Sperry still follows Swift on Instagram, fans have noticed she no longer regularly likes the singer's posts.
Since April 2024, the actress has only interacted with two major announcements from Swift: her engagement to Kelce in August 2025 and her announcement that she had regained ownership of her master recordings in May 2025.
Questions about the couple's friendship intensified last November when Teller, who recently starred as John Branca in the Michael Jackson biopic, was asked whether he and Sperry would be attending Swift and Kelce's wedding.
"I don't know. That is gonna be - I imagine - one impressive wedding," he said. "But yeah, just very happy for them. I've known Trav for a while, too, and I think they're having a blast. That's the point."
The comments drew attention because Sperry previously appeared in Swift's 2021 music video for 'I Bet You Think About Me (Taylor's Version),' making the pair's reported absence from the guest list particularly surprising.
Just days after those comments, Teller joined Travis and his brother Jason Kelce on their podcast, New Heights.
The couple, both 36, announced their engagement in August 2025 after two years together.
Earlier this year, sources told US Weekly that the pair had been considering a summer ceremony in Rhode Island, where the 'Cruel Summer' singer owns an $18 million mansion.
"They're both involved and making decisions together," one source said, adding that they are "focused on actually enjoying the process rather than getting caught up in the pressure" of organizing the wedding. "They're keeping things light."
A second insider claimed events could be split between Swift's mansion and the nearby Ocean House resort.
"The guest list grew, so the ceremony and private gatherings associated with the wedding [will be split between the venues]," the source said. "Taylor always has a plan B and C for every scenario."
The same insider added: "They've gone back and forth between inviting everyone and keeping it small and private. As of now, they've scaled it down. It's no longer going to be a massive blowout."
The wedding timeline has reportedly been planned around Kelce's NFL schedule as he prepares for training camp ahead of the upcoming season.
Teller and Sperry are not the only former members of Swift's inner circle who have reportedly been left off the guest list.
Page Six previously reported that Blake Lively was unlikely to receive an invitation after Swift became involved in the actress's legal dispute with Justin Baldoni.
Reports have also suggested that model Karlie Kloss did not make the final guest list.

Taylor Swift and Travis Kelce have announced that they are engaged.
The 35-year-old singer and the 35-year-old Kansas City Chiefs tight end shared the news on Tuesday (August 26) in a joint Instagram post, which read: “Your English teacher and your gym teacher are getting married."
In the first picture, Kelce is shown on bended knee below Swift, who is donning a striped dress and standing under an elaborate floral arch. A later photo shows the 'Love Story' singer sporting a large ring.
The happy news follows the couple's two-year relationship, which began in July 2023, during the early months of Swift’s record-breaking Eras Tour.
At the time, the NFL star revealed on his New Heights podcast that he had tried, and failed, to pass along his phone number to Swift on a friendship bracelet, a fan-favorite accessory at her shows.
“I was disappointed that she doesn’t talk before or after her shows because she has to save her voice for the 44 songs she sings,” Kelce told his brother, Jason, on the podcast.
“If you’re up on Taylor Swift concerts, there are friendship bracelets and I had received a bunch of them, but I wanted to give Taylor Swift one with my number on it," he added.
The bold admission caught Swift’s attention, and the pair soon connected privately. By September 2023, they had made their relationship public when 'Cruel Summer' superstar artist was spotted cheering from a suite at Arrowhead Stadium as the Chiefs faced off against the Chicago Bears.
Since then, the couple has become a fixture in both sports and entertainment headlines, with Swift regularly attending Chiefs games and Kelce traveling internationally to support her tour.
Congratulations to Swift and Kelce!
