Video and photos have surfaced that allegedly show the night Ruby Rose claims she was sexually assaulted by Katy Perry at a Melbourne nightclub in 2010.
The footage, obtained by TMZ, confirms that the two were together on the night in question - something that was not in dispute, but which now has visual evidence to support it.
It comes as Australian police confirmed they have launched a formal investigation into the claims, while Perry's representatives have strongly denied the allegations, calling them 'categorically false' and 'dangerous, reckless lies'.
The footage shows Perry and Rose together on the evening of August 15, 2010, at the Grand Hyatt hotel, where the pair crashed a high school prom.
Perry can be seen grabbing a microphone and singing along to several songs, including Beyoncé's 'Single Ladies', while appearing relaxed and in good spirits.
Rose was with her at the time, though she is not visible in the footage.
From there, the pair reportedly went on to Melbourne nightclub Spice Market - the venue attached to the hotel where Rose alleges the assault took place.
At the time, Perry had just released 'California Gurls', the lead single from her Teenage Dream album.
Rose was primarily known as a model and had not yet broken through as an actress.
Rose first made the claims on Sunday (April 12) in a series of posts on Threads, responding to an article about Perry's reaction to Justin Bieber's Coachella set.
"Katy Perry sexual assaulted me at [Spice Market] nightclub in Melbourne. Who gives a s*** what she thinks," she wrote.
She later provided graphic details of what she alleges happened, claiming Perry approached her while she was resting on a friend's lap and assaulted her.
Rose said she 'projectile vomited' as a result.
The actress, now 40, said it had taken her 'almost [two] decades' to speak about it publicly, and that she had previously told the story but reframed it as a 'funny little drunk story' because she didn't know how else to handle it.
She also claimed Perry later helped her obtain a US visa, which kept her silent.
Rose's posts on Threads have since been deleted.
On Tuesday, she confirmed she had filed reports with police.
"As of this afternoon, I have finalised all of my reports," she wrote.
"This means I am no longer able to comment, repost, or talk publicly about any of those cases, or the individuals involved."
Victoria Police confirmed on Wednesday that detectives are investigating.
"Melbourne Sexual Offences and Child Abuse Investigation Team (SOCIT) detectives are investigating a historical sexual assault that occurred in Melbourne in 2010," police said in a statement.
"Police have been told the incident occurred at a licensed premises in Melbourne's CBD.
"As the investigation remains ongoing, it would be inappropriate to comment further at this stage."
Police did not name either individual involved.
Perry's representatives issued a strong denial after Rose's posts went viral.
"The allegations being circulated on social media by Ruby Rose about Katy Perry are not only categorically false, they are dangerous, reckless lies," they said.
"Ms Rose has a well-documented history of making serious public allegations on social media against various individuals, claims that have repeatedly been denied by those named."
Perry herself has not commented publicly.
She was at Coachella over the weekend with her partner, former Canadian Prime Minister Justin Trudeau, when Rose first posted the allegations.
The former manager of Spice Market, which closed its doors for good earlier this year, also spoke publicly about the night in question.
Speaking to the Herald Sun, he recalled that Perry and Rose arrived at the venue together, along with Perry's hair and make-up team and a friend of Rose's.
"It was a security nightmare because there were 600 people there and Katy kept coming out and dancing with everybody and going right in the middle of the mosh pit," he said.
He said the pair spent most of the evening in a cordoned-off VIP area known as the Genie Bottle, where they were 'having drinks and stuff' and 'mainly doing their own thing'.
"I wasn't aware of any alleged assault, or someone vomiting," he told the paper.
He added that the pair were escorted out through the back of the venue at the end of the night and left together.
With the police investigation now formally underway and Rose confirming she has completed her reports, the matter has moved beyond social media and into the hands of authorities.
Rose has said she is unable to comment further while the investigation is ongoing.
Perry's team has made clear they consider the claims to be false.
The emergence of the TMZ footage confirms the two were together that night - but what happened between them at Spice Market remains, for now, a matter of dispute.
The investigation is ongoing.
