Chris Rock has candidly opened up to viewers about his strict parenting style after he asked for his daughter to be kicked out of school.
In his new Netflix stand-up show, Selective Outrage, the 58-year-old comedian spoke about being a father to his two daughters - 20-year-old Lola Simone and 18-year-old Zahra Savannah - whom he shares with ex-wife Malaack Compton-Rock.
During the comedy special - which also featured Rock addressing the controversial Oscar's slap - the comic revealed the lengths he would go to make sure that his children weren't spoiled.
Rock recalled a time when his eldest daughter, Lola, was on a high school class trip to Portugal and she was caught sneaking out and drinking alcohol.
"Lola and four of her little white girlfriends decided they were bored," Rock said, as cited by People. "Of course, they got busted. Rich white schools, they don't play that s***."
The Grown Ups star explained he and his ex-wife chose to hire lawyers to keep their children in school, but he also wanted his daughter to comprehend that her actions have consequences.
"These crazy white schools got rich a** white parents and rich a** white parents do not let their kids get kicked out of school,” he said, per Independent. "So all the parents, they all got lawyers, even the ones that were lawyers got lawyers. Good lawyers."
However, Rock soon learned that Lola didn’t understand the severity of the situation, recalling: "So, I come home from work and I see Lola outside just laughing with three of her little white girlfriends," adding, "Lola is like, 'Daddy, stop it. You’re so serious! I’ll be back in school in no time.'"
He then decided that the only way to teach Lola a lesson is by asking the dean of the school to expel her, saying: "'I need my Black child to learn her lesson right now before she is up on OnlyFans and some s***. Please kick her out.'
"They kicked her out. They kicked them all out, but they kicked my child out first," the Saturday Night Live alum added.
Despite allowing his daughter to be booted out of the school, Rock shared that things eventually turned out well for her as she is studying culinary arts in Europe.
Over the years, he has spoken about being a proud father to his two girls. In 2017, he posted a heartwarming tribute to Lola and Zahra on his Instagram page.
"Lola got a great report card today. And Zahra got an A on her math test. I’m on tour Missing my babies Dallas tonight," he sweetly penned at that time.
After Lola graduated from high school, her mother also shared a heartfelt post about her eldest daughter's education on her social media.
"My first born child Lola Simone has graduated from high school and turned 18! I cannot believe we have reached these milestones! But I could not be prouder of the young woman she has become and am excited for her to begin university in Europe," she wrote.
"Food and travel is her love language and she sees life through the lens of communicating through food, culture, and community. I am so excited to parent her through this next phase of life. She is an extraordinary human being and I love her so," he added.
