If you're a Harry Potter fan, you're in for some rather disappointing news today!
And the bearer of that news is none other than Daniel Radcliffe, who played the series' title character for an entire decade.
While promoting his new movie, The Lost City, with co-stars Channing Tatum and Sandra Bullock, the 32-year-old actor told The New York Times that returning to the franchise isn't on the cards for him right now.
"This isn’t the answer that anybody’s going to want, but I think I was so able to go back and enjoy [the reunion] because it’s not a part of my day-to-day life anymore," he told the outlet.
"I’m getting to a point where I feel like I made it out of Potter OK and I’m really happy with where I am now, and to go back would be such a massive change to my life."
That's not to say that Radcliffe is ruling out the possibility of re-entering the Wizarding World at some point in the distant future.
He explained: "I’m never going to say never, but the Star Wars guys had like 30, 40 years before they went back. For me, it’s only been 10. It’s not something I’m really interested in doing right now."
The interview comes after director Chris Columbus told The Hollywood Reporter in November that he'd like to work with the original Harry Potter cast members including Rupert Grint, Emma Watson and Radcliffe for a potential Harry Potter And The Cursed Child adaption.
He said: "A version of Cursed Child with Dan, Rupert and Emma at the right age, it’s cinematic bliss. If you’re a film nerd or cinephile, it’s kind of like what J.J. [Abrams] did with Star Wars.
"Star Wars really started to be great again when J.J. made the film and we had all the original cast back. There’s no question if you’re a Star Wars fan, you were moved just seeing them on screen, seeing Harrison Ford as Han Solo again — and Chewy.
"It was very moving. I think that would be the same situation for Harry Potter fans. To able to actually see these adult actors now back in these roles? Oh, yeah. It would be amazingly fun to make that film — or two films."

Daniel Radcliffe has made a surprisingly honest confession about his time as Harry Potter.
The 36-year-old actor rose to global fame playing the boy wizard across eight films over 10 years, beginning with Harry Potter and the Sorcerer’s Stone in 2001 and ending with Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows Part 2 in 2011.
During a live taping of the Happy Sad Confused podcast, interviewer Josh Horowitz told Radcliffe that fellow British actor Andrew Garfield recently watched the franchise for the first time and was hugely impressed.
"I hadn’t watched the Harry Potters until recently… and he’s [Radcliffe] really good in those Harry Potter movies. Those Harry Potter movies are really good," Garfield, 42, told Hits Radio.
Radcliffe reacted to the Spiderman actor's compliments, saying it was "cool" and described Garfield as "fantastic" and "awesome."
But then he admitted: "I disagree with him about my performance in ‘Potter,’ but that’s really nice, thank you!"
The Imperium actor has long been open about feeling uncomfortable watching himself in the films.
"I have more time now for me in the early films," he explained on the podcast. "Like, when I was 18, I would cringe watching the earlier films."
"Now, I think the early films are sweet, and now I cringe watching myself when I was 18 or 19. And I assume those dates will just keep changing as to what I find palatable of my own work," he added.
When asked if there was a particular era of the franchise he avoids revisiting, the Woman In Black star gave another blunt answer.
"I mean, I haven’t seen any of them for so long, so, all of them I guess," he quipped.
Despite Radcliffe's mixed feelings about his own performances in the wizard world, he has previously shared which entries in the franchise he prefers.
"I would take Chamber of Secrets out of those two 'cause I love the Basilisk," he said, comparing it to the first film.
He also admitted he prefers Goblet of Fire over the fan-favourite Prisoner of Azkaban.
"I know everyone wants me to say Azkaban. I know that’s how everyone else feels, but I love the stuff I got to do on the fourth movie, it was awesome. So I’ll say Goblet of Fire," he explained.
When it comes to his overall favourite, Radcliffe said Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows Part 2 takes the top spot, with Goblet of Fire coming in second.
However, he was more critical of one instalment in particular. "Half-Blood Prince is probably the bottom of the bracket for me. And that’s my own stuff. That’s not the film," he clarified.

Harry Potter has been a staple in most of our upbringings, and Daniel Radcliffe is preparing for another actor to take on the iconic role that made him famous.
Arguably the most popular franchise of all time, since the first book was published in 1997 the Potter universe has only grown, to the point that entire theme parks across the globe are dedicated to it.
To further the wizarding world, an entirely new series has been announced by HBO Max and Discovery+ which will essentially re-adapt the original series for the silver screen.
Watch the announcement below:Casey Bloys, the CEO of HBO and Max Content, said in a press release: "We are delighted to give audiences the opportunity to discover Hogwarts in a whole new way. Harry Potter is a cultural phenomenon and it is clear there is such an enduring love and thirst for the Wizarding World."
Bloys went on: "In partnership with Warner Bros. Television and J.K. Rowling, this new Max Original series will dive deep into each of the iconic books that fans have continued to enjoy for all of these years."
For some, seeing new actors take on iconic roles such as Harry, Ron, and Hermione might be quite a weird experience, and Daniel Radcliffe has weighed in on the matter.
Harry Potter consumed Radcliffe's life between the ages of 11 and 21. Now 33, the star is ready to hand over the baton to a new actor.
During an interview with Deadline, Radcliffe said: "I think it’s like Harry Potter was always destined to become like Sherlock Holmes.
"The people that saw Basil Rathbone play Sherlock Holmes then [said] no one could ever do this! They’re gonna, though. It’ll get passed on to somebody," the Harry Potter star concluded.
One thing that Radcliffe knows better than most is the impact that childhood fame can have, and he often considers the next young actor who will experience the same journey that he did.
"The weird thought I have now is like, oh that’s probably like an eight-year-old kid out there somewhere whose life is going to change in a couple of years. My brain does go there," the 33-year-old said.
As reported by the Daily Mail, David Heyman, a producer on all eight of the Potter movies, is set to be in talks to be an executive producer on the series, so we might be in safe hands with the new series.
There has been no official release date yet, but it seems like Radcliffe has given it the green light!

An actress who appeared in the Harry Potter films has revealed the "life-changing" amount of money she's made through OnlyFans.
Jessie Cave rose to fame playing Hogwarts schoolgirl Lavender Brown in the final three films in the series.
But now, years removed from the ending of the franchise, Cave has continued to act and moved into stand-up, but has also dipped her toes into the world of OnlyFans.
Now, she's revealed just how much money she's made on the paid-subscription service.
In a recent interview with The Times, the actress and writer spoke candidly about just how financially lucrative her time on OnlyFans has been.
"I earned more [money], easily, than my entire acting career within one year," she said.
Cave joined OnlyFans last year and charges fans $6 a month to access her content. She revealed that within just one month, she made $20,000.
Most of her money, Cave said, comes from fans paying to message her on the app.
She says that earning the money from OnlyFans has "saved" her financially.
"It's now been over a year and a half and it's genuinely saved our lives," she said. "I thought I’d make five grand, be on it for a few months and it would buy me time to work out what we’re going to do."
Prior to joining the site, the actress had been at a point of "complete desperation" as audition opportunities began to dry up.
She said she chose to join OnlyFans since "normal jobs" don't make sense for her.
"I couldn't go and, say, work in a supermarket," she went on. "I can't afford the childcare and, also, I don't want people shouting Harry Potter at me [all day].
"I could retrain, but I [couldn't] afford to do a degree."
Cave noted, too, that while she does dress up as her Harry Potter character per request, all the videos she makes are with her fully-clothed.
Jessie Cave first came to fame when she won the part of Lavender Brown in the final three Harry Potter films; Half-Blood Prince and the two parts of the Deathly Hallows.
The character is best known for becoming the first on-screen girlfriend for Ron Weasley (Rupert Grint) before he realises his true feelings for Hermione Granger (Emma Watson).
As per JK Rowling's original novels, Cave's character is killed during the final battle at Hogwarts.
Following her career-making stint on Harry Potter, Cave focused on acting on mostly British TV dramas and comedies, such as Call The Midwife and Trollied. She had a bit part on in the first season of buzzy finance drama Industry in 2020.
Her first novel, Sunset, was published in 2021.
Cave is in a long-term relationship with comedian Alfie Brown, with whom she shares four children. The couple originally broke up after the birth of their second child but later reconciled.

Do you love Harry Potter? Do you like money?
If you've just answered a resounding 'yes' to both of those questions, then boy oh boy do I have some exciting news for you.
JK Rowling's most enduring creation, the Harry Potter books, have become an indelible part of our culture in much the same way as football and the Sunday roast. It's now been more than 20 years since the first book, Harry Potter and the Philosopher's Stone, was published.
These grandparents built an incredible Harry Potter-themed fortress:

The rest, as they say, is history. Six further books followed, as well as eight movies, two spinoff movies and millions upon millions of fans all over the world.
So, if you're one of that legion of Potter fans, you'll doubtless be extremely excited to learn that one company is offering $1,000 plus bonus perks to five people who're willing to binge watch all the movies in the wizarding world. In practice, this means all of the Harry Potter movies, as well as the two spinoff Fantastic Beasts movies.
The job description, from EdSmart (the company offering the dream gig) reads;
"Will the real Harry Potter fans please stand up?
"Here at EDsmart, we realize that most people could use a little magic right now, and we love Harry Potter.
"Most of the Muggle world is struggling with self-isolation and not having a normal routine–like we’re all living in the cupboard under the stairs at 4 Privet Drive, Little Whinging.

"We realize that at this time, we can’t all head to Diagon Alley to stock up on goods nor Hogwarts to be with our friends.
"So, in light of all that’s going on out there and in our homes, we’ve decided to pay up to five Muggles, Mudbloods and magic folk $1,000 each to watch every Harry Potter and Fantastic Beasts movie–the Ultimate Dream Job.
"The right candidate will be chosen by the Sorting Hat."

The company notes that they are after a Harry Potter fan (naturally) but also an "active, outgoing social media personality".
On top of the $1,000 pay, the lucky successful candidates will receive a host of other treats, including: Harry Potter Butterbeer Caramel Corn (with containers), Harry Potter-themed candy, a Gryffindor snuggie, a Hogwarts alumni stainless steel tumbler, and a $100 Grubhub gift card.
If this sounds like your idea of heaven, then you can apply on the company's website, here.
