Kylie Jenner is facing a new lawsuit after a former private chef claimed the demanding workload she was allegedly required to perform during her pregnancy contributed to her miscarriage.
The lawsuit, filed Monday in Los Angeles Superior Court, claims the reality TV star's former chef lost her unborn child in February 2025 after being required to work long hours and carry out physically demanding tasks despite informing her employers she was pregnant.
According to the Los Angeles Times, the lawsuit also names business management firm Tri Star as a co-defendant.
The chef has not been publicly identified. Her attorney, Della Shaker, said: "Celebrity status does not exempt anyone from California's employment laws. We look forward to presenting the evidence in court and allowing the facts to speak for themselves."
Shaker told The Independent: "Given that the laws apply equally to everyone, regardless of wealth, influence, or public profile. Our client also deserves the same protections afforded to every employee in California."
According to the complaint, the chef was hired to work for the mom of two in November 2024.
The following month, she allegedly informed her supervisors that she was three months pregnant and "required reasonable accommodations to protect her health".
Despite that, the lawsuit claims she was still expected to perform physically demanding work.
On New Year's Eve, the complaint alleges she was required to "lift and transport heavy food items across the street and uphill without assistance," after which she "became dizzy, began choking and gasping for air, and required assistance from security personnel, who intervened by providing water and aid."
The lawsuit further alleges that while working at a birthday party for one of Jenner's children in Palm Springs in early February, she was not provided with "adequate support".
Per the complaint, she "broke down emotionally" because of the "exhaustion and overwhelming physical strain" before later experiencing "extreme physical exhaustion and heaviness throughout her body as a result of the prolonged and intense workload".
The following morning, she allegedly began hemorrhaging and went to the emergency room, where she was informed that she had "lost her unborn child".
The new lawsuit is the latest legal challenge involving the Kylie Cosmetics founder.
In April, two former housekeepers also filed separate lawsuits against the reality star.
One of those complaints was brought by Angelica Hernandez Vasquez, who alleged she was subjected to harassment, discrimination, and retaliation while working at the star's Los Angeles home between September 2024 and August 2025.
Although the business mogul was named as a defendant alongside Tri Star Services and Maison Family Services, the lawsuit does not accuse her of personally carrying out the alleged harassment.
Instead, Vasquez claimed she was "routinely assigned the most difficult and undesirable tasks; excluded from the housekeeping team; publicly belittled and humiliated in front of coworkers due to her race, national origin, and religion; and subjected to intimidation and demeaning treatment."
She also alleged coworkers mocked her Salvadoran accent, snapped their fingers at her, forced her to complete other employees' work, and treated her as inferior because of her background.
The complaint states that tensions escalated in March 2025 when a supervisor allegedly threw hangers at Vasquez's feet during a confrontation.
Vasquez claims she reported the incidents to Jenner and the companies responsible for managing the household, but says her concerns were ignored, ridiculed, or dismissed, and that "no corrective action" was taken.
She further alleged she was regularly instructed to work at Jenner's boyfriend's residence, believed to be Timothée Chalamet's Beverly Hills home, without being compensated for transportation costs.
The lawsuit claims the alleged treatment caused Vasquez financial losses and left her suffering from "anxiety, severe stress, and symptoms consistent with post-traumatic stress disorder."
After taking medical leave in July 2025, she resigned the following month, alleging that the working conditions had become intolerable.
Jenner and the other defendants had not publicly responded to the allegations at the time of writing.
