Social media users are baffled after seeing the runtime for John Wick: Chapter 4.
Keanu Reeves is back as the titular assassin as he pursues revenge to take down the High Table following the tumultuous events of the previous film: Chapter 3 - Parabellum.
The fourth movie chapter is set to be released on March 24 and according to Collider, it will be the longest film in the franchise as it will clock in at 2 hours and 49 minutes.
The runtime reveal will resume the action movie's tradition of making each film bigger than the last as the 2014's John Wick was 101 minutes, 2017's John Wick: Chapter 2 ran 122 minutes, and 2019's Parabellum lasted 131 minutes.
While all of the films are longer than the last, they have also done better at the box office as well. The first film of the franchise earned $43 million domestic and $43 million foreign for $86 million worldwide from a $20 million budget, as noted by Daily Mail.
The outlet stated that the chapter 2 flick claimed $92 million domestically and $79.5 million foreign for $171.5 million worldwide from a $40 million budget.
Lastly, chapter 3 raked in even more, with $171 million domestic and $157.3 million foreign for $328.3 million worldwide from just a $75 million budget.
Nevertheless, after finding out the length of the highly anticipated sequel, many users couldn't hide their shock as one person wrote: "I love these movies, but the last one got exhausting by the end. I hope this justifies its runtime."
"These movies may be better off taking a cue from horror in that a leaner runtime can sustain the momentum of your movie a lot better, but I hope I’m wrong," they added.
Another said: "Love John wick but I can’t see this runtime being necessary."
A third user hilariously commented: "Jeez what happened to the good old, 1-hour-45 movies. I'm old and need to peeee!"
Meanwhile, other people were exhilarated by the runtime news as one person cheerfully penned: "And I will be there no matter what."
A second person added: "This is music to my ears hell yeah."
And, another interjected: "I’m not gone hold you…They could make this movie 3 hours and 49 minutes, and I’m still gone watch it 4 times."
