Donald Trump's private nickname for his youngest son, Barron Trump, has been revealed in an upcoming book that offers insight into the family's personal life.
The detail appears in Regime Change: Inside the Imperial Presidency of Donald Trump, written by New York Times journalists Maggie Haberman and Jonathan Swan, which is due to be released this week.
Ahead of publication, The New York Times shared excerpts from the book, including an account of the moment Barron reportedly phoned his father after conservative activist Charlie Kirk was fatally shot.
According to the authors, Barron - who was 19 at the time - was the first person to alert the president to Kirk's death.
The book claims he feared his father could also become a target following the assassination and warned that continuing to speak before large crowds posed a risk.
Trump is said to have tried to reassure his son by affectionately calling him "honey."
"Calm down, honey, calm down," the president reportedly told him.
Barron, now 20, graduated from Florida's Oxbridge Academy in 2024 before enrolling at New York University's Stern School of Business in Manhattan. Reports later suggested he transferred to the university's Washington, D.C., campus during his sophomore year.
Unlike many members of the Trump family, Barron has largely stayed away from the public spotlight. However, he was recently seen attending the White House's UFC Freedom 250 event alongside his mother, Melania Trump, and his brothers, Donald Trump Jr. and Eric Trump.
Despite keeping a relatively low profile, Barron has already ventured into business. Earlier this year, he launched Sollos, an energy drink company aimed at younger consumers.
The brand currently offers a single pineapple and coconut-flavored yerba mate drink, retailing for $39 per 12-pack.
According to the company's website, the founders, aged between 19 and 23 and all raised in Florida, wanted to create a beverage that "actually complements life in the Sunshine State."
Sollos is not Barron's only business venture. In 2024, he also co-founded the cryptocurrency company World Liberty Financial alongside his older brothers.
According to Forbes, Barron's net worth was estimated at around $150 million by the end of 2025.
Earlier this year, a source also praised the youngest Trump sibling in comments to People, describing him as "smart, focused and resourceful," adding that he is "quite ambitious for such a young age."

Barron Trump is proving he may have a way with words - just like his father.
While attending New York University's Stern School of Business, Barron Trump might seem like your average college kid. Yet, at just 18 years old, the son of the new president-elect has been credited with swaying a critical voter demographic in the latest election.
The youngest son of Donald Trump - whom he shares with wife of 19 years Melania - voters have seen less of Barron throughout his father's three presidential campaigns.
This makes a lot of sense given the fact he was just 10 years old when his father first ran for office, meaning he is far younger than Trump's other children - Ivanka, Donald Jr., Tiffany, and Eric - who have been a lot more vocal over the last eight years.
But although the public hasn't heard much from the teenager, his political stance surely sides with the rest of his family, right? Well, according to the Daily Mail, Barron prefers to remain neutral.
Despite frequent inquiries about his political stance, Barron maintains a neutral front, telling peers he supports no party.
And perhaps this serves as an essential armor at a school that witnessed an anti-Trump protest on Wednesday.
Nevertheless, as a fresh voter, Barron's electoral debut was significant - casting his first presidential vote for none other than his father, Donald Trump, as confirmed in a tweet by the teen's mom.
“Voted for the first time – for his dad,” Melania proudly announced on X, capturing the significance of the milestone in her son's life.
This move coincided with a victory speech that saw his towering presence - standing between 6'7" to 6'9" - beside his father.
Despite the familial ties, Barron's political influence stretches beyond mere genetics.
Recognized by some in the GOP as a future leader with the slogan "Barron Trump President 2044" already circulating on eBay, he's not just another presidential progeny. Donald Trump has praised Barron's acute understanding of the young male demographic.
His insight proved invaluable when GOP consultants were scouting for impactful podcast appearances. The answer? Call Barron.
His recommendation to kickstart the campaign trail with an interview on Adin Ross's podcast — a favorite of his and a hub for the internet's edgiest content — was a strategic masterstroke. The interview not only went viral but also solidified Trump's appeal among young male voters, thanks to Ross's enthusiastic endorsement, complete with lavish gifts like a Tesla Cybertruck and a gold Rolex.
Barron's influence extended to orchestrating a series of interviews with popular figures in the "manosphere", a community resonating strongly with young men.
From Theo Von and The Undertaker to Logan Paul and Ben Shapiro, these discussions often deviated from traditional political discourse, touching on everything from sports to personal anecdotes.
Of course, perhaps Donald Trump's greatest move was appearing on one of the biggest podcasts on the planet, The Joe Rogan Experience - with the titular host later endorsing his Republican guest.
These efforts culminated in a significant shift at the polls, with a notable migration of young male voters from the Democrats to Trump—a testament to Barron's behind-the-scenes efficacy. Trump, reflecting on his son's recommendations, told Fox News: "[Barron] tells me about all the 'hot' guys. People I've never heard of. 'Dad, that guy is hot.'"
Meanwhile, as well as proving pivotal behind-the-scenes of his father's campaign, Barron also left people in awe when he took to the stage during his father's victory speech last week in Florida - with people floored by just how tall he had grown compared to previous campaigns.

Barron Trump reportedly snubbed all but one of his famous siblings at his 20th birthday party the other day, inviting just one.
The youngest Trump offspring was reportedly told who to include and exclude by his mother.
The youngest of the children of President Donald Trump, Barron turned 20 on March 20, and reportedly celebrated with a party.
Despite a few recent news stories, Barron actually lives a pretty reclusive life, and not much is known about him - although much is speculated.
One thing that we have heard is that he is reportedly very close to his mother, First Lady Melania Trump, and she is incredibly tight on what happens regarding him and the media.
So, it’s strange that a story like this would have emerged - if indeed it is true.
The story, first reported by well-known gossip journalist Rob Shuter on his Substack, claims that the guest list to Barron’s birthday bash was carefully controlled, and even being a direct relative didn’t guarantee an invite.
If the reports are to be believed - and we can’t be sure, of course - then even Barron’s siblings Ivanka, Eric, and Donald Trump Jr. didn’t make the cut.
The NYU student, who is the son of Donald and Melania, apparently just isn’t that close with his siblings, according to one of Shuter’s reported sources.
On the Naughty But Nice blog, he reported on March that Melania simply wanted her own beloved son to be the center of attention.
The source is reported as having said: “Melania is in charge, and she wanted this to be about Barron — not about Donald Trump, and not about his other children.”
That’s fair enough, right?
After all, it’s his big day.
The source continued: “This was a small, controlled, private celebration,,
“And certain people were simply not included.”
Those ‘not included’ reportedly included Donald’s kids from his first marriage to Ivana Trump, 48-year-old Don Jr., 44-year-old Ivanka, and 42-year-old Eric.
To be fair, would a 20-year-old want his half-siblings over twice his age at the party anyway?
According to Shuter’s source, Melania has ‘always kept Barron separate’ and was in charge of the guest list.
“They’re not close — at all. This wasn’t an oversight. They were left off the list,” the source said.
“Barron didn’t grow up with them in the same way. There isn’t a real bond there.” Everyone in the family is reportedly aware ‘who matters in Barron’s world’, and where everyone stands.
The one Trump sibling who was reportedly present was Tiffany Trump, who is just 12 years older than Barron, and then pair are reportedly closer.
In total, Donald Trump has five kids - although there are other claims out there - with Don Jr., Ivanka and Eric born to Ivana in in 1977, 1981, and 1984 respectively.
Tiffany is the daughter of Donald and his second wife, Marla Maples, and was born in 1993.
Barron was born in 2006 after Donald had married Melania.

With Donald and Melania Trump's only son together Barron turning 20 today, his mother is speculated to be 'concerned' that he could be drafted.
As the conflict between the United States and Iran continues to heat up, there are growing questions over whether President Trump will send ground troops into Iran itself.
With that, of course, comes the question as to whether the US government is planning to start drafting its citizens to prepare for battle.
If such a draft were brought in, it would more than likely mean that some of the US's young men (and women) would be conscripted to fight.
As Barron turns 20 today, speculation has begun to buzz that the First Lady might be worried that he might be part of that conscription.
Writing in her 2024 memoir, Melania famously touched on her anxieties over the pressure her young son might face when his father took office in 2016.
"I was concerned for my son, Barron. He was just a young boy, barely 10 years old," she wrote.
"Our first year in politics only solidified my determination to shield my son from such unwanted attention."
But now, nearly a decade on from that first term, the 20-year-old Barron has been making consolidated steps into the political spotlight.
It was reported that, during Trump's 2024 re-election campaign, his youngest son was central in helping his father position himself as a winning figure to young male voters.
He even - some say - advised Trump on which podcasts it was best to appear on.
The United States hasn't conscripted its citizens into war since 1970, during the Vietnam War.
At that time, an estimated 1.8 million citizens were called on to fight in the conflict.
Ironically, though, Donald Trump wasn't one of them - he famously avoided being drafted five times thanks to a medical diagnosis.
Due to the ongoing war in Iran, the topic of conscription isn't going away any time soon, and the White House has certainly done nothing to calm worries that another draft for its citizens could be on the horizon.
White House Press Secretary Karoline Leavitt has said that Trump 'does not remove options off the table.'
She elaborated: "The president as commander in chief wants to continue to assess the success of this military operation.
"It’s not part of the current plan right now but again the president wisely keeps his options on the table."

Barron Trump has just announced his new career path.
The 20-year-old son of President Donald Trump and First Lady Melania Trump is now officially tied to SOLLOS Yerba Mate, a Florida-based drinks company preparing to launch its first products next month.
State business records obtained by the Daily Mail list Barron as one of five directors of the company, which is registered in both Florida and Delaware.
The Palm Beach-based brand has already started teasing its forthcoming canned drinks that are set to hit shelves in May 2026.
The company recently unveiled its first flavors in a LinkedIn post, writing: "Introducing our 12-pack: Pineapple + Coconut," followed by "Launching May 2026."
The teaser featured a 12-pack on a surfboard floating in the ocean. The cans are designed with yellow and baby blue stripes and stamped with a bold orange sunburst logo.
A separate clip shared on April 8 showed the drinks moving through a factory line, offering a peek into production as launch day approaches.
SOLLOS has described itself as a "lifestyle beverage brand built around clean + functional ingredients," with its roots firmly planted in South Florida culture, per PEOPLE.
In an earlier post, the company explained its name, stating: "Growing up in South Florida, our lifestyle was shaped by the opportunity to spend time outdoors year-round. That experience led us to create SOLLOS, a beverage designed to complement life in the 'Sunshine State.'"
The name itself carries a deeper meaning tied to the sun’s daily cycle. "Together, SOLLOS captures the full cycle of the sun and that 'It Begins Where It Ends,'" the brand added.
Barron, currently a sophomore at New York University’s Stern School of Business, has reportedly been laying the groundwork for his financial future for some time.
Sources previously said he spent the summer of 2025 developing business plans and working closely with collaborators.
"Barron has been actively working on his own financial interests and has spent time with others who he is involved with in that area," one insider told PEOPLE.
Even though he is currently in the beverage industry, real estate still appears to be firmly on his radar as insiders say he is keen on property development.
Those close to him describe a driven and focused young man eager to build something of his own. "Barron has inherited his father's interest in making money and a name for himself, and is well on the way to becoming an entrepreneur," an insider said.
"He is smart, focused and resourceful. He is always looking for areas that interest him and is quite ambitious for such a young age," they added.
Another source highlighted both similarities and differences between Barron and his father, saying: "Barron is a carbon copy of his father, yet he is blessed without the elder's brashness. He is more like his mother with a European aloof and quiet sophistication."

Donald Trump isn’t ruling out the possibility that his youngest son, Barron, could one day run for president.
During a recent Fox News interview with Laura Ingraham, the 79-year-old president gave a tour of the White House and touched on everything from renovations to family.
The conversation took a turn when Ingraham asked which of Trump’s children might follow in his political footsteps.

The president, who shares five children across three marriages, spoke highly of each of them: Donald Jr., Ivanka, Eric, Tiffany, and Barron.
He described his children as smart, successful, and passionate about the country.
“Tiffany is very smart. She was a great student, always a great student. They’re all great students, actually,” Trump said. “And I think Barron’s gonna be, uh, tremendous at that. He’s very meticulous.”
Ingraham then brought up a popular theory floating around online: “A lot of people think [Barron] could be the next Trump president.”
The two-time president responded: “I don’t know. I think-” before she suggested Eric or another child might also fit the role.
Trump concluded: “In a certain way, they all could,” before switching topics to showcase his Presidential Walk of Fame.

While Barron, 19, has never publicly expressed political ambitions, his parents have been quick to praise his behind-the-scenes role in the 2024 campaign.
Melania Trump previously told Fox News that her son “was very vocal” and gave strategic advice during his father’s presidential run: “He’s a grown young man. I’m very proud of him - about his knowledge, even about politics, and giving advice to his father. He brought in so many young people.
"He knows his generation, because nowadays the young generation, they don’t sit in front of TV anymore. They’re all on the tablets, they’re on the phones, and all of these podcasts and streamers,” she continued.
“He was very vocal, and he gave advice to his father, and [it] was incredible how he brought in a success because he knew exactly who his father needed to contact and to talk to,” she added.
In a previous interview, Trump shared a comment about his son that quickly made the rounds on social media - drawing more laughs than admiration.
“He can look at a computer… I turn off his laptop, I said, ‘Oh good,’ and I go back about five minutes later, he’s got his laptop, I say, ‘How do you do that?’ He’s got an unbelievable aptitude in technology,” Trump said.
The comment, meant as praise, sparked widespread ridicule online. Many users pointed out that rebooting a laptop is standard behavior for most college-aged individuals.
One user wrote, “BREAKING: The President expresses astonishment that his college-age son can turn on a laptop… This is abnormal.”
Another joked: “Stop the press. Trump’s son can turn on a laptop!!!!” while a third quipped: “His aptitude is determined by turning on and off a laptop? Lmao gt**h.”

Barron, who transferred from NYU’s Manhattan campus to its Washington, D.C., location, is now living just blocks away from the White House.
Whether or not the teen ever runs for office remains to be seen, but with both parents singing his praises and the public increasingly curious, the speculation is only growing.
“He’s doing a good job,” the president said. “He’s tall. He’s a tall one.”
