Billie Eilish has opened up about life after finding fame, saying she actually "feels the same" despite being one of the most famous singers in the world.

The 20-year-old musician spoke to V Magazine about what has changed - or rather stayed the same - for her since her debut single 'Ocean Eyes' skyrocketed her to stardom in 2015.

This is largely thanks to her childhood home, which she said hasn't changed in years.

"My relationship with my home has not changed, just like with my parents and my brother," Eilish said. "I think it's a bit jarring for some people who grew up with me or haven't seen me in a long time.

"[They] come over to see us and see that it's exactly the same. It's as if you walked in here and it's 2003."

The 'No Time Do Die' hitmaker and her older brother, Finneas, were raised in a Los Angeles suburb and homeschooled by their parents.

"There's no sign that a famous person exists within 200 feet of this area. I mean, it's really funny. I have to remind myself what my life actually is to the outside world, because I just forget sometimes. My life really, honestly feels the same as it did when I was a child," she explained.

"Except that I don't have any friends." Eilish added: "I mean, besides the people that I work with, who are absolutely my friends - they're actually my best friends."

Eilish's touring band includes her brother, who co-writes and produces her music. She's also joined on the road by her parents, Maggie Baird and Patrick O'Connell.

It comes as Eilish said that if the Met Gala made her realize one thing, it's that "famous people are just literally nobodies".

Appearing on SiriusXM's The Howard Stern Show in December, Eilish, who was one of four Gen-Z co-chairs at the 2021 Met Gala, opened up about what the fashion event of the year was like for her.

"It's nuts. It's famous people famous people-ing. That's what it is," the singer said.

Eilish compared attending the star-studded bash, with regular guests such as Kim Kardashian, Rihanna, Kendall Jenner, and Kate Moss, to being back in high school.

"You know what, the main thing that night made me think or feel was how famous people are just literally nobodies. Just randos, and it's so weird," she went on.

"I was like, 'Wow, all these people are just somebody that's in class with you,' and you think this person's kinda annoying, you really like this person, you get along with this person, and everybody's just, like, embarrassed and insecure about what they're doing and saying."

Despite that, Eilish still had an unforgettable night, gushing: "It was amazing though. It was just beautiful in there."
