Fans are stunned after Britney Spears shared her "real" singing voice in an a cappella rendition of her hit 1998 song, 'Baby One More Time'.
On Friday, July 15, the 40-year-old singer took to Instagram to post a video of her singing in a distinctly deeper voice than usual while doing her laundry.
"This is me yesterday doing laundry and separating clothes," she wrote in the caption. "I haven’t shared my voice in an extremely long time… maybe too long… and here’s me playing at my house with a different version of 'Baby'."
"The WORD as in WORDS… Show me how you want it to be… tell me baby 'cause I need to know… give me a f***ing sign… HIT ME BABY ONE MORE TIME!!!" she continued.
Watch the video below:In the footage, the pop star can be seen filming herself in the mirror with her phone as she belts out a much more melancholic version of the song.
Spears continued to explain in her caption that she wanted to release an alternative version of her number one song but had been unable to because of the limitations she was placed under in her career.
"Well I have asked for what I wanted for 14 years… a different version of 'Baby' but have the producers actually work for me and put it together… a start… but as the TEAM said NO and serves me with 4 girls, my sister included, doing a 5-minute version of 4 remixed songs to a T not even having to give effort or dance… just shot it beautifully and the sound was NEW!!!" she wrote.
"They ruined it for me, embarrassed me, and made me feel like absolutely nothing!!! The truth is a f***ing b***h!!!" she continued. "I share this because I am aware of my love and passion to sing… and my own family made a fool of me… I’m not going to be a victim!!! HIT ME BABY ONE MORE TIME???"
Many users on the social media platform were delighted to hear Spears' "real" and "natural" voice, with others saying she should release the lower version of the track.
One user wrote: "So incredible to hear your REAL voice."
A second penned: "I love your natural voice but I love more seeing you comfortable showing it to the world."
Another commented: "You need to record this version girl! We love hearing your voice!!!"
Kaitlyn Bristowe, winner of Dancing with the Stars, said Spears should do a re-recording of her songs like Taylor Swift: "PULL A T SWIFT AND RE RECORD AN ALBUM. We beg of you."
This isn’t the first time that the 'Toxic' singer has shown off her vocals for fans on social media in recent years. Late last year, she shared a now-deleted video on Instagram where she practiced some runs and began belting out high notes.
In the caption of the video, she hinted at releasing new music, writing: "New songs in the works," however, that is unconfirmed as Spears wrote in her recent video that her love for music was "ruined" for her by the conservatorship she was under for 13 years.
"You say go do it NOW after 14 years of asking and telling… I worked my a** off then I was locked up in one place… It’s too late… Like I said, they ruined it for me️," she said.
